take kobe off those title teams, lets see where that 25 ppg avg goes to
yea, you could give those 25 to shaq, but he'd be a dead horse by the 4th quarter...let alone, a seven game seriesComment

Originally posted by jordan0386substitute mike with dominque and they still take those rings
so the whole "better team" argument isnt valid in my books...it was 85 percent jordan, most likely more
I've been saying it for a while now that Kobe has a tough time on his hands but you're lucky, because if he and his team do well you'll let everyone know about it, then if they suck you'll make excuses it's his teammates who are crap.
This will be a great year because it will shut up a lot of people one way or anotherComment

Originally posted by Admiral50Odom isn't the player Pippen was, certainly not defensively and Kobe isn't Jordan so that should be enough. But then look at the important helpers the Bulls had, like Grant, Paxson, Kerr, Rodman, Kukoc and more. The Lakers must find those key ingredients because 'a dominant sg' simply isn't enough. The closest we've seen to that statement (excluding your Jordan one man team theory) is Iverson and his bunch of scrub Sixers.

ive seen what AI, paul, kg, tracy have done...and ive seen what kobe has done labeled as a number 2 option
its not that hard to believe that he will carry the lakers to post season
as ive said, you dont have to be as good as jordan or better than him, but if he was able to carry a team to the post season...and he obviously did well afterwards...its not far off to believe kobe can take this laker team to the playoffs
the thing is, a lot of you just dislike kobe, so you slant his ability by giving excuses of how ihs team is bad and how he plays in the west, and how he isnt a leader, a rat, what have you, WHATEVER
if you just look at kobe bryant, the basketball player that he is today, since he has been in the league, since he has won three rings, countless game winning buckets, rebounds, what have you...big moment ability
ITS NOT THAT HARD TO THINK HE WILL CARRY A TEAM TO THE PLAYOFFS

Re: Kobe Bryant poured in 35 points, but it wasn't enough...
Jordan, you are absolutely correct, Kobe is a great player and he's one of the best in the league and it's possible that he may sneak his team into the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed, but if i'm starting a team from scratch i WOULDN'T add Kobe to that team! His shot selection leaves a lot to be desired, he's selfish, he doesn't know how to work w/in the confines of a team.Comment

Jordan, people aren't getting mad b/c ur saying that Kobe will make the playoffs. Most people have The Los Angeles Kobes pegged at 7 or 8. So quit turning it into that. People are getting mad because you are comparing The L.A. Kobes to a Bulls team that went 72-10. SEVENTY TWO AND 10. The Kobes couldn't beat the Sonics in pre-season, with Kobe playing like it was the championship game! Thus, people are getting mad at you making such a bold comparison.
#1 If you wanna compare Kobe's current situation to someone, compare it to Paul Pierce, AI, Tmac, people who can carry their teams to the playoffs with scrubs and role players, but wont win a title
#2 If you wanna somehow fit Kobe in a comparison to the Bulls dynasty, it can only be done with the 3-peat Lakers, not the current Lakers. And I'm sorry, but even then Kobe wasn't the best in the league, he wasn't even the best on his team. He was the number two option. He was Scottie Pippen, I know you wanna say he's MJ, but he's not. Shaq was. When The Lake show was winning titles, Shaq was the most dominant player in basketball. I'm not sayin Kobe was just a role player, because thats not the case, he's elite, but so is Pippen. Shaq and MJ couldnt have won their rings without their #2's. Pippen and Bryant are both top 50 and similar in alot of ways. Except Scottie would never say "I wanna be the man, get rid of MJ"...Which is exactly what Kobe did to Shaq.Comment
