I really want to know what Lebron said after he swatted Curry - at first I thought the last word was beeotch but the replay changed that.

Whatever it was, he was feelin' it while saying it! lol like "not in my house you little poopy!"

LeBron was incredible. I understand why the MVP always goes to someone on the winning team* but if it were an award based solely on merit, he should win it. What a fantastic player to watch.

*It would just be awkward, for all parties, to accept an award while the other team is spraying champagne everywhere. Sometimes it's ok to go with the spirit of the rule instead of the strict definition.

I can't remember who said it here but, Golden State used dribble penetration to create good three point looks during the season and most of the playoffs. Because of the Cavs D, GS has not done that and instead is hoping to hit threes. It also appears that open looks are getting rushed because the team isn't seeing the looks they usually get and their constantly feeling the pressure of hitting a shot to come back in the game.

It's good stuff. I always said I can't see this Golden State Warriors team being cold for four games in two weeks. I think they start hitting those shots in Game 7 at home.
Another angle to consider: All season, Golden State's cleanest looks, purest ball movement, and most overwhelming scoring barrages have been sparked by transition and secondary transition opportunities.

The kicker: One has to get stops to initiate those opportunities. Forcing turnovers is preferable, at least cleaning the defensive glass would suffice. Forcing just 10 turnovers, being out-rebounded 45-35, and allowing a team to shoot 51.9 percent puts a kink in a lot of those offensive plans.

All that said, the Warriors were one just missed Steph Curry layup away from cutting a 24-point deficit to six in the fourth (ended up being a four-point swing at the other end). Curry still knocked down six 3-pointers and Thompson was 3-of-10 (including one awful, awful, stepback decision in the corner).

I think the absence of Andrew Bogut and Harrison Barnes can't easily be overstated. Bogut's presence in the paint defensively and on the offensive glass on the other end (say, back-tipping missed 3-pointers) wasn't elite, but it was a huge part of what made this team go (when he wasn't in foul trouble). And if you take away Barnes' 2-for-22 stretch (largely on clean looks - dude is real life shook), the Warriors' offensive numbers don't look that alarming.

TL;DR: My hot-but-not-hot-take: Game 7 should probably come down to what Golden State can muster defensively, as it fuels their insane-o offense on the other end. But then again, without Bogut, and depending on the status of Andre Iguodala, that could be easier said than done. Also, Harrison Barnes.

same with Barbosas shot making ability thus series....dude is playing with a crazy amount for confidence on offense..been a great spark
I re-watched most of the game this morning and you're on point referring to JR Smith, his off ball & a few sequences of on ball defense were on point.

Def not used to seeing him play D with that type of focus & intensity.

Someone (CMH?) referenced someone posting earlier in the thread about GSW continuing to try to force threes to get back into the game. It was TMagic who said that and his analysis was on point as well. The Cavs physical D was giving GSW a lot of contested / forced bad looking 3s yet GSW didn't change it up and continued taking them.

            .

Speaking of JR, they asked his daughter why she was proud of him...

She said 'because he made it to the championship without getting kicked off the team' [emoji38]

but yeah man, he's been good...imagine if he would've locked in like this when he had young legs...

If there's any Leftovers fans out there I just watched both seasons recently. The opening credits for Season 2 was my inspiration for this:

Social media is a damn trip. The game is rigged, Steph is a crybaby now, you know when Lebron drops 40 "the league gotta be soft"

It's sad too. People can't appreciate two heavyweights going at it.

Never want to hear "Lebron isn't clutch" from any sportwriter again.

I don't think we've seen both teams play a good game together once in this series.

Been kinda stale imo as far as great finals

The most impressive about this Cavs team is how they've been able to step up defensively.

I wish LeBron could win and somehow Cleveland still lose but since that's not possible I just hop GS goes out and gives their crowd something to cheer on. It's gonna be a crazy environment.

And Steph is such a strange guy lol. In the heat of the moment, pissed off and having just thrown his mouthguard at a fan, he chills out and apologizes, then goes right back to being angry lol. Just crazy to me, it would've been easy to shrug it off or say "I didn't even notice it hit him or whatever" but he really might be the golden boy they say he is.

Curry had 1 assist last night? Lol, cry about fouls all you want but Kyrie was getting roasted for not passing earlier in this series. Though to be fair, there's a good chance that Harrison Barnes ruined lots of his assists, lol. And if it was Draymond who threw his mouth guard at a fan, can we even comprehend the backlash? My goodness.

There has been a total 22 NBA postseason games played since May 11th. Not one of them has been decided by fewer than 6 points.

Watching the individual performances from game to game has been entertaining, let's have a close final 5 minutes in the 4th for game 7 though. 22 games since one was decided by fewer than 6 points is bordering on ridiculous. What better time than an NBA Finals game 7 to break the cycle.
