They probably don't want to hear about Lebron being 2-5 in Finals because they hurts his marketability.

    Eh. I think that's a bit of a stretch.

You don't lose the rivalry. It's just marketed a different way.

LeBron, the best player of the last decade, trying to bring a title to Cleveland against the team that has bested him twice. 1st time, injuries derailed his team and left him to carry the load, ending in a loss. 2nd time, he was just ONE game away from bringing the title home. Will the third time be a charm? Will he finally be able to break thru and bring a title to "the land"?

It's a great story all on its own. A true redemption and underdog story if they have to go thru Golden State again.

I don't think people would suddenly not want to watch if the Warriors win again. Everyone would still be tuning in.

Hell, you'd probably have more people, myself included, pulling for Bron to get it done this time around.

This will be my last thing on the calls. There is one thing I don't care what anyone says here. The Cavs are attacking Curry on the offensive end. They are putting him in situations where he literally has to foul. Because if he doesn't the Cavs will be on a run. Great example would be last night. Curry get his first foul 10:37 mark into the game (TT because of the switches). He was covering Kyrie at that time. The next situation for Curry is the LeBron steal on Klay Thompson. Curry again finds himself between the basket and James on the break. He either gets a foul and sit on the bench or let James in for the Jam. Every single time the Cavs come down in a half court. They look for who Curry is covering and then put him in a pick and roll situation with LeBron. They either switch or give LeBron a lane into the paint. It's crazy and I expect the Cavs to keep doing this. Warriors either need to help Curry in those situation by trapping/double. Or just let him defend on a island.

If nothing else, this series has stopped all that "Curry is the best player in the world" nonsense. He's been awful on defense and hasn't really created much for his teammates, averaging just 4 APG. Basically if he's not scoring, he's not contributing much at all.

I don't necessarily disagree, however in fairness I think he's playing injured, and is clearly pretty exhausted. What he did during the regular reason was unquestionably incredible.

That being said, even though I'm really not a "LeBron guy", it seems pretty clear to me that LeBron clearly still is, and probably still for awhile will be, the best player on Earth.

He was the best in the Regular Season by far. Lebron in the playoffs by far. It can be both.

Agree on the defense I dunno why he's reaching so darn much. I do think though his creating has been fine though alot of their open looks are based off the attention he receives.

I had a moment of weakness.) well, just know this time I will be pulling for your team to finally bring one home.

They've been managing games since the '80s.

When they want certain stars and teams to win badly enough, we have series like the Lakers vs. the Kings with one team getting 32 FTs in the fourth quarter.

Just hamstring certain key players with foul trouble, while allowing nobody role players to do whatever they want.

You want to dismiss Donaghy completely because you want to believe it's only about pure competition, not a business. Boxing is obviously a business, which decides big title matches with judges, who often scored matches in a way to boost lucrative rematches. The NBA is really beyond reproach when it comes to the possibility of manipulating results to maximize profits?

And exactly this is why I could behind Curry's wife. Donaghy admitted on video (some documentary that is currently on Netflix) that the NBA wanted to gear the game towards it stars. And the older refs like Scott Foster are still refing this way.

I think this is double edge end sword here. I don't think Curry is awful on defense. It's just he gets caught in these mismatches vs player bigger and strong then him. Steve Kerr isn't willing to help with an extra defender to give open shots to role players (which I can understand). But it's either the Warriors help on d or let him get stupid fouls. And he is the other side of the sword. With all this defensive. Curry is either wasting energy trying to cover the Cavs ball handlers. Or getting into foul trouble and getting taken out of the game.

He may have been the best offensive player this year but that's not enough to call him the best in the world. He's on a stacked team.

Put it this way; if you took this past season's 76ers roster and inserted either Steph Curry or LeBron James onto that roster, which team would you expect to win more games?

                    Right.

It's funny how when they were up 3-1 all we heard was "Bron bout to lose ANOTHER Finals and will probably leave". Didn't hear anybody even bring up the word "Rigged" but now that it's all even, it's "rigged".

Let's not act like he was this bad defensively all year long considering he was much closer to a ++ defender than this showing. and That's such a dumb way to look at it.

Actually most of those posters (here at least) weren't even posting up until now. I've seen usernames I've never seen my entire time on the NBA Forums, and after that don't see them now.

I'm not saying it's been like that all year but he's closer to average on defense than he is elite.

He's the best player on the best team but he's not the best player in the world. I don't think people fully appreciate how perfectly put together this Warriors team is. It's not a coincidence that he's way worse without Draymond Green on the floor.

Ain't talking about just here though. It was all the rage on Twitter last night as well.

Bigger than it normally is on there. Here, it's just the same old nonsense we get every year lol. That's the same dude that said the league moved up the Finals game to Monday instead of Sunday so the league can let Soccer get more eyes on it lmao.
