I get what you're saying, but Game 5 changed the course of that series. We all know Dray is the heart and soul of that team. His suspension and the Warriors play in that game played a big part in the momentum swing.

Going for 73 hurt em, you could see their pace drop towards the end of the regular season

Except he only played 12 a game.

Injuries happen every year b...as the Cavs will tell you.

They were more than equipped to win that series and were up 3-1...like Kerr said, you can't play around in these situatons and the Warriors confidence, which is borderline overconfidence at times eventually did them in IMO

There were a lot of factors, but it had to do more with what happened on the court than anything else...

How could your even say that? Didn't get he get like 3 blocks in one game and 4 in another game? (Checking stats now)

Yea much in like the year before when the Cavs had no Kyrie & Love.

Whether it does or doesn't matter who was missing from either team both years, you gotta find a way to win with the team you have on the court. Injuries/suspensions can happen, doesn't invalidate the championship for either team.

Looking forward to round three, assuming both teams make it back.

Kind of annoying if "They couldn't beat a healthy Cavs team" is the new thing now though. Starting with Game 5 the Warriors either didn't have, or didn't have a healthy, Green, Bogut, Iggy... three best defenders.

Personally I say so what... there are 12 guys that can play and the team with the best 12 deserves to win. That was true last year and this year. Just don't like the idea of that being a crutch for cavs fan last year and a boasting point while ignoring the other side this year.

For me honestly it's a fun narrative. People used to say if the Warriors had won this year, it makes recruiting Durant more difficult. That's not anymore right or wrong than saying they went even harder after Durant because of the loss. I know both teams dealt with issues during these last two finals, but they were different.

And yeah, if every team could, they would go after Durant, but we all know what would be said about that if he actually went to Cleveland.

You're right he averaged only 12, but 15 to 12 is splitting hairs. Point is, he made vital contributions in short periods of time.
After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!

Agreed. The suspension also played a role in Game 6. Green played quite passive in that game because he didn't want to risk missing a potential Game 7.

I just see an argument of "Warriors win if Green plays Game 5" being like "Knicks win Game 7 in 1994 if Starks hits his 3s."

Yes, I just compared Draymond Green to John Starks! Haha!

Thats what makes these debates fun though, the Green suspension was self inflicted, but what happens if he was suspended vs OKC? Do the Thunder go to the finals? Does Durant leave if they beat GSW? Its the same with the Cavs when they lost Love and then Kyrie, what ifs were brought up. Or when Ray Allen hit that 3 to push the series to 7. These types of arguments will always be here.

All that said, this Cavs team will always be remembered as the 1st team to win a title after being down 3-1, and it happened against a 73 win team, no one will care who got suspended or hurt.
