So, when a top player does this does the NBPA kind of hate him? Lol.

Warriors have everyone's bird rights so literally the only thing he saved was Jacob's luxury tax bill. Didn't impact team building at all.

            Durant is a damn fool.

Yea but isn't it going to be a pretty huge bill? Especially to keep the whole team together year after year. I don't think they'd let the stars go, but I don't know if they'd continue to pay the role players

He can still do all of that and not give Lacob a break. Take your money, Lacob got it.

He got that no-trade clause too.

Like it was said before they'll probably hook him up once they move in the new arena

The crazy tax isn't due until 2019-2020, I believe, when Klay is up. This year and next are "normal" tax bills.

To me, it's just a bad look. The team is worth 4x what he paid and the arena has been sold out for 3 years. Lacob has the money to foot the tax bill. If this were a paycut to help build the roster, that's different.

Nothing I think he's looking at that big payday now or more money in general for players.

That tends to happen when you get older. How many more big contracts can he sign?

Bron is taking max salary every season.

Durant was never going to take the full max because the Warriors don't have his bird rights so they need cap space to sign him over his cap hold, even for the 10 year non-bird max. He was however in line for the 120% increase over his cap hold and he took even less than that. Which is just wild.

I was joking about his tweet from couple days ago saying why there is a max contract and Steph should be getting $400M over 5 years.
