    2017 Offseason Thread

Are we going to do this every time a "name" FA leaves the team that drafted them? Goodness gracious, it's getting annoying hearing it from the fans every single offseason.

      31.75M per year for Gordon?

Damn that's a ton of scratch.

Not sure how this move makes Boston that much better, especially when they have 3 SF's on the roster already.

Who's to say he's gunna play second fiddle to Isaiah? He could easily come in and take over this team for all we know. Or he could take the scoring load off IT and they split it, which is what I imagine will happen. Also Crowder can play the 4 if he is even on the team next year. Also I've heard that Tatum could play the 4 and Jaylen the 2 but I'm not sure that will happen. I would imagine during the Summer League Tatum is playing the 4 and Brown the 3 though. I didn't get to watch our game against the 6ers so I'm not 100% sure if that's what they are doing.

You'll hear it from me because this team stacking **** sucks. As long as it happens, I'll be hear voicing my discontent.

Especially on a young, up-and-coming team like Utah.

Now, all their progress from last season is essentially gone.

Doesn't matter how great of a coach Stevens currently is, he won't be able to find minutes for three players (Hayward, Brown & Tatum) that play the exact same position. Especially when two of them are young, developing SF's that need time/minutes to develop.

Oh well, at least it is one less team for the Spurs to worry about. *Shrug*

Heyward is so good and versatile. excited to see him in an uptempo offense as well probably will up his stats as well.

In other words, you hate free agency. Cool.

How'd you feel when Aldridge left Portland to come to SA again? Or did you withhold all criticism of him because he came to the team that you support?

Isn't Boston a "young, up and coming team" taking into consideration the moves they've made over the last few years in regards to FA? If anything, their blueprint hasn't been much different than Utah's Draft and Develop plan, right or wrong?

It's because IT2 likes to shoot but as we saw he destroyed Washington being a pass 1st and playing more offball. He's evolved his game.

If the NBA doesn't try something their popularity will fade quickly as everyone will believe it to be a league full of millionaire cry babies who can't even play every game of a "grueling " 82 game season.

Exactly, Tatum will be a stretch 4 for the Celtics, he'll need to add weight but that will be where he winds up I'd bet.

                        Brown can play SG.

Stevens will mix and match and we'll probably see those 3 playing together at the 2/3/4 at some point in the future.

It's a business, first and foremost, so the players can do as they please.

I thought you would mention Aldridge, but his situation wasn't the same as this one, OKC/Durant or Cleveland/LeBron. He was a guy heading into his 30's, who had discontentment with his former organization, heading to a older team with one star (Leonard).

Anyway, it sucks to see him bail from Utah but hopefully both organizations find success.

As long as they have Leonard (healthy) and Popovich then I won't worry. They don't have cap space to chase big name FA's, their alleged main target (Chris Paul) is off the board and they still have to decide on their own free agents.

They are also waiting to see what Manu decides to do. They probably won't surpass Golden State no matter what they do, so I'm okay with trying to maintain the same level of team.
