It's July 4th (a national holiday and a month after the last meaningful game) and the NBA is dominating the sports world in news and attention. Why? Because Gordan Hayward (somewhere between the 15th and 25th best player in the league. Very, very good but hardly franchise altering.) made his decision.

Yeah, the NBA is in dire straits because of that wanky thing called player choice.

So I assume when Gobert gets that money to join Brooklyn in three years, this video will be played in response?

Celtics should move Crowder, they have a serious logjam at the 3 with Hayward, Crowder, Brown, and Tatum.

Wizards intend to match Nets' offer to Porter.

                They pretty much have to...

"With Gordon Hayward now agreeing to a four-year $127M max contract, Celtics management now has a series of transactions to do in order to create cap space. The Celtics would have to pull the qualifying offer on Kelly Olynyk, renounce free agents Jonas Jerebko, James Young, Gerald Green and waive the contracts of Jordan Mickey and Demetrius Jackson (or trade). The Celtics would be left with $27.6M in room and likely need to move the contract of Jae Crowder, Terry Rozier or Marcus Smart. Trading Rozier would have the Celtics short $1M of a max salary a lot."
Given the make up of their roster it makes more sense IMO to keep Smart and Rozier.

Whatever happened to Glen Rice Jr? I remember I made a prediction on here back in 2015 I think that him and Porter were gonna push the Wiz to the next level and I was only half right...

Brown is the backup 2 guard now right ? I would like to see them keep smart as well. Still no rim protection on this team at all. Is Ainge even looking to add rim protection ?

Agreed. They still didn't address their big man/rebounding issues and now they're even thinner at the 4/5 position. Not sure I like the Hayward move without addressing the other needs. Also had 4 draft picks too and not 1 was a big man...they must be going full small ball mentality.

What's there to not understand? Small market teams are at a disadvantage. It's been proven time and time again. Just because the league is doing well doesn't mean it can't be better. You think fans are going to stop tuning in if the NBA had more parity? As annoying as this conversation is every year it's more annoying seeing a team like Utah build their team up the right way only for it to be gone a month later and see the Celtics and their 75,000 championships become contenders again because of it.

They have a big man they drafted last year who will most likely be on the roster this year.

Well rolling with whoever that guy is (a rookie?) and Horford is a bold strategy. Maybe they're counting on signing Bogut for the minimum or something?

Yeah I have heard boguts name brought up. Celtics making more shots will also help the rebounding issue a bit. Most people are really high on Zizic though.
