He did check out what teams did have to offer. To quote Andrew Bogut, "These meetings have already happened weeks ago." These guys or their agents have meetings probably throughout the entire season, if not right when the season ends. Hell, there have been reports going back as early as June 11th that Lebron was "officially" going to LA. How does that happen if the two sides can't talk at all about contract offers or anything?

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
All the local LA channels here are already nauseating lol. I love the move and I'm happy and all for it but c'mon. Much of what I'm seeing already is over the top & annoying. Relax LA, we've been here before, act like it.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
My issue is all the people saying LA is now a sudden Top 4 seed.
Come on.
The West is a COMPLETELY different animal. LeBron's not going to be able to coast his way to a Top 4 seed like it's nothing. Plus everything about not having help... as it stands right now, Kevin Love is a far better player than any of his current teammates in LA. Obviously this changes if they trade for Kawhi, but as of right now, I'm not entirely convinced this Lakers team is going to be Playoff material, unless Adam Silver does a quick change and makes the Playoffs 1-16.
GSW, HOU, Utah, and New Orleans are all better squads right now IMO.

TBH I don’t think you realize how good LeBron is if that’s your prediction lol. You’re not convinced they’re playoff material? LeBron could lead a squad full of 11 other injured Greg Odens to the playoffs lol.
Seriously though the Lakers won 35 games last year and are adding LeBron... that’s a 50 win team IMO which would’ve been good enough for 3rd in the West last year.
Add Lance and you might as well crown them now.

But I will say one thing though. I like this move for him because their is a system in place here offensively. This high paced offense is going to be nice for LeBron.

If I had to pick a team to be replaced by LA in the postseason, it's Portland IMO. Too much uncertainty and possibly some friction between their stars and their front office.
Yeah, historically LeBron adds 15 wins to a team he joins... in the East. This ain't the East.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
You're not taking into account continuity, improvement, and additions from other teams. Houston is going to have a full year together under their belt, Utah will (hopefully) have a healthy Gobert instead of just having him for 56 games, New Orleans should get better, Denver has gotten better and hopefully won't be without Millsap for over half the year, Thunder should be solid again,Minnesota should be better with a healthy Butler, then there's always the Spurs who you can't count out.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Absolutely. Dallas is looking like a dark horse for the playoffs.
Memphis should be much better too with the addition of Jackson and the return of Conley.
Even Phoenix (big fan of Igor) and Sacramento are putting together some very young and talented squads. You can't cruise through the West like you can in the East.
