How the **** is Lowry better than DeRozan lmfao -
Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Lowry was much better than DeRozan in the playoffs too. DeRozan has never once had a good postseason. Lowry is generally pretty good.
DeRozan's career averages in the playoffs:
21.9 PPG
49.7% TS%
4.4 RPG
3.5 APG
-2.5 BPM
0.3 win shares
Lowry's career average as a Raptor in the playoffs:
17.9 PPG
54.5% TS%
4.4 RPG
6.2 APG
+2.8 BPM
0.7 win shares
Lowry's average postseason is far and away better than DeRozan. Even DeRozan's best postseason run doesn't touch Lowry's average postseason.
And in the regular season, Toronto has been worse when DeRozan is on the floor all but one year in his career while the opposite is true for Lowry.NFL: Bills

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
I really don't get this trade for the raptors. I know that PG just signed in OKC but I don't envision Kahwi staying in Toronto. It's not a good look to trade he guy who probably would be the greatest Raptor ever at the end of his deal and the only superstar who didn't bolt for warmer pastures for a guy who reportedly doesn't want to play for Toronto and a rental

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Can't believe this deal happened! Sucks to lose DeRozan, and sucks another Toronto franchise player is leaving on bad terms(DeRozan "lied to" about not being traded, and now he's upset with Raptors, the team he loved and place he was proud to call home). But getting Kawhi and even Danny Green as an extra guy isn't bad at all, especially if Kawhi is healthy. If he's not, then Raptors might've set themselves back 15 years with Vince Carter 2.0 situation on hand.
PS, does this get us on Christmas now?
I'm not looking so crazy now for suggesting that am I?Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
What a trade for both sides. The Spurs turned Leonard into DeRozan and Poetl (DeRozan is locked into his deal for at least another two seasons), Poetl is a young big they can develop.
Raptors only give up DeRozan, Poetl, and a protected 1st that turns into two seconds next season -- nice. Its a big risk for Toronto, to give up a guy like DeRozan who absolutely loved the team and the city, but if Leonard stays it's a huge win.
If he goes, you immediately jettison all the vets and build around the young parts. Gonna be really interesting to see how new HC Nick Nurse handles all this.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
As a member of the Raptors, Lowry has averaged 18/7/5 on 57.4% TS% with a BPM of 5.5, average win shares of 9.4, and the Raptors have been significantly better whenever he's on the floor every year before this past season.
During that same time span, DeRozan has averaged 22.5/4.4/4 on 53.9% TS% with a BPM of 0.3, average win shares of 7.7, and the Raptors have been significantly worse whenever he's on the floor every year.
Lowry literally has DeRozan beat across the board with the exception of PPG and it isn't particularly close.NFL: Bills

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Toronto is swinging for the fences because if Kawhi comes back then he's an easy upgrade over DeRozan but if he really doesn't want to be there then they're going to lose a player who loved it there for one season of Kawhi. It's a really interesting gamble.
Pop didn't have any interest in young players/picks because he's too old to start a rebuild, so DeRozan is about the best he could hope for since they had almost no leverage.
With that said, I'm not sure that this makes either team that much better than they were before, soMy 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Deal Lowry for Butler now and we'll be set!
This trade is telling for me though. Raptors giving up Poeltl (who is their backup C now? No Bebe or Poeltl anymore). With Casey here, JV barely got to play in the 4th, and many felt was being held back by Casey. Even rumors for probably 2 or so years with JV in the middle of it(JV for Drummond was one of the rumored deals). Now JV is gonna be given all the opportunities at C.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Lowry is flat out a better player. He's better both in terms of individual stats as well as team performance.
As a member of the Raptors, Lowry has averaged 18/7/5 on 57.4% TS% with a BPM of 5.5, average win shares of 9.4, and the Raptors have been significantly better whenever he's on the floor every year before this past season.

DeRozan has always been over rated IMO.
He takes some horrible shots in big situations.
Heck go back and look at the series vs the Cavs this year.
Casey benched him the whole 4th quarter in game 3 and they almost came back from a 16 points down.
After reading through all these comments ive come to the conclusion it was a good trade for both sides. lol
Lots of good points from both sides on who got the better deal.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
I was wrong about this one, but I can guarantee that Hollywood Jimmy Butler will NOT stay in Toronto. First, I highly doubt Thibs trades Jimmy for Lowry. But if he does, Jimmy will not stay in Toronto. Dude's ego will not allow that to happen.Comment
