I know they pretty much had no other choice, but spending $300M on a team that got their *** kicked in the first round seems like a bad investment.

I really did not expect George to re-sign.

If this was two or three years ago I would tend to agree, sadly, Chandler looked like he's lost a step.

I would be more inclined in keeping Justin Anderson around. He has all the tools to be a solid rotation piece, but for whatever reason Brown (and Carlisle before him) doesn't give him minutes.

Spurs are about to mess around and not get anything worth a damn for him. I think it’s clear the Lakers won’t trade Lonzo or Kuzma, but with LeBron, Kawhi, Lance, they wouldn’t have a huge need for Ingram and that is the one player on the Lakers roster that would be something the Spurs need.

Realistically in that type of scenario he should jump to about 20 ppg next season, and he’s only 20 years old. That’s 7 years under Pop to get to the stage Kawhi is at now. Who knows how much he’ll develop in that time frame.

I really think if the Spurs met them in the middle and said give us Ingram, Hart, and a first or two we’ll give back Kawhi, Green, and take in Deng’s contract. I think the Lakers would take that trade, whether they should or shouldn’t, and the Spurs would have their SG and SF of the future to bring along with Murray for years to come.

Realistically the Lakers shouldn’t do that, they should just wait him out at this point. But I think they would do that trade if the Spurs were to give in. If not I think Ingram flourishes this year alongside Bron and the Spurs feel like they ****ed up.

Josh Hart definitely isn't better than Derrick White or maybe even Lonnie Walker IV.

He is a 6th man at best or 2nd guard off the bench at worst. Spurs already have complete log jam at the guard spots (Mills, Belinelli, Green, Murray, White, Walker IV and maybe Parker), so I doubt they have any use for him.

I'd take Ingram but not without Kuzma (who I'm not high on) and picks.

Losing him for "nothing" (cap space is nothing???) is better than taking on someone else's trash contract(s) to match salaries.

If they lose Leonard next offseason then just trade away Aldridge, Gasol, Mills and start fresh. People are in panic mode like the Spurs don't have a long- term plan (sans Kawhi).

Also, Pop isn't coaching for another 7 years. LOL

I give him two or three years max before he calls it quits.

Rebuilding will be painful and they could end up like Brooklyn, Chicago, Sacramento, Phoenix and the Lakers. Or they could make sound decisions and hit pay dirt (again) (Gervin, Robinson, Duncan, Parker, Ginobili & Leonard) which would put them right back in the mix.

They already have a nice mix of raw, unpolished talent (Murray, White, Walker IV, Anderson and Bertans) but they need a linchpin (*cough*Kawhi Leonard*cough*) or lottery talent to supplement them.

Also, a quality starting center would help a lot too. Pau is washed as ****.

SA has zero leverage in this situation. I think it's easy to say, I want Ingram, Kuzma, picks etc but it's honestly not happening. 365 days are going to fly and then Kawhi will be a FA. Spurs need to take what we selling or lose him for nothing.

Yea hawks are still expected to take on a bad contract for picks with the only even rumored FA we are interest in being Levine and that looks like a agent plant. I’m still hearing at-least two 1st to dump deng and maybe a little more now that the picks will be in 20s. The hawks actually could sorta use deng as we have only 1 true SF on the roster.

Dedman cost himself a good amount of $ by opting in to his 6 million contract. I assume he did it bc he didn’t think the player of his level would get paid like they did. He can be traded right away and with spellman playing better then expected in summer league he is even more tradable.

There is some unauthenticated footage of Deng playing basketball in the 60's out there but the over equiped experts can't tell with certainty that it's actually himself.

Luol Deng was playing at the 2 for the Warriors the day Wilt scores 100.
