Yeah Lakers as of now aren't better than UTAH, OKC, NOP, HOU. I'd think they are better than Portland but that's closer than you'd probably think.

I'd make the trade for Kawhi asap mainly because well he's a top 5 player and I'm not really high on any of LA's young guys. I don't get the waiting thing with Kawhi of not giving any assets since he wants to come to LA because your essentially punting 1 season of Lebron at age 33. and you don't want another Paul George situation.

would Kawhi and Lebron be favored against GSW? no probably not but I'd like their chances better than Houston and HOU took them to 7 games. you aren't going to put together a roster that would be favored against GSW in a series. if that's the goal then what's the point everyone should tank right. But it would be a shot though and that's all your looking for.

Well, LeBron hasn't spoken to Luke Walton yet reportedly. So we know what that means. Homeboy's days are already numbered.

LeBron went on vacation with his family right before the announcement and if Woj and others are to believed basically told his people to do the press release and now he's going to be available until the end of the month sounding time with his wife and kids, that also includes social media etc.

I'll take this Lakers team as constructed with LeBron over Cleveland last year with LeBron. Ball, Rondo, and Lance can all make plays. LeBron was literally the only one on Cleveland who could last year. That alone is huge. LeBron can still dominate pretty much anyone 1 on 1, so if he's got guys who can make plays for him, that'll be better than him having to do everything to try and get or wait for his shooters to get open.

You're not wrong and I was definitely over-excited and primarily making the analysis based off the two games they blew out 2 pretty good teams. I definitely didn't expect them to perform as poorly in the playoffs as they did.

With that said, I'm not expecting LAL to compete for the title this year and would probably place them 3-5 in the WC right now. As it stands, I think their ceiling is WCF and their floor is 1st round exit...which is a weird thing to think about for a LeBron team.
