Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
No real pressure on the Spurs side to pull any quick triggers though...not like they're a middling franchise thats stuck or collapses once their superstar leaves. They should take their time in getting exactly what they want.

Also, Pop should just retire. I wanted him to break the all time winningest mark but enjoying his life is more important (plus he has team USA to finally coach).
People will read this as "sour grapes," but Kawhi proved to be a massive bitch afterall. Can't see how he builds trust within any new organization with the nonsense he pulled this past season. I was hoping he would regain his form and status, but if he ends up like Brandon Roy, Tracy McGrady or Grant Hill then I won't be sad. ****'em.....
Sending him to the dumpster fire that is Orlando, Phoenix or Sacramento would be GLORIOUS......

Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
His lashing out, although boardering on unprofessional although so was Kawhi's behavior, was based on frustration and the fact that the Spurs medical staff cleared Leonard in February.
Clearly, the injury was a smokescreen for his (true) desire to play in a bigger market......
But, sure him being an "***" is what ruined the relationship and not the loss of trust/confidence on both sides plus Leonard being a bitch......

Kevin O’Connor saying the expectation around the league is that Phoenix will attempt to trade the #1 pick for Kawhi.

Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
Funny enough, Ayton on NBADraft.net is projected to be like David Robinson. Just watch the Spurs trade for that pick and he actually does end up being that caliber of a player. Robinson in 87, Duncan in 97, Ayton in 18.Last edited by Majingir; 06-16-2018, 11:39 AM.Comment

Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
Not sure how you can fault the all-time great coach that helped develop, instilled confidence and vouched for Kawhi when no one else would/did. Pop saw what Kawhi would/could become before anyone, anyone else did.

I think what made him want out was how he kept being thrown under the bus.
Even when he went back to NY in the playoffs it was the Spurs suggestion not his own but they wouldn't tell you that.
Tony Parker talking about being a good teammate lolol...he should've kept his mouth shut
At this point you have to realize also that other stars are looking at how they're handling their own guy and it's not a good look.
2nd star in 2 years discontented is also not a good look no matter how you dissect it.

The guy has people in his ear with ulterior motives. Some of which are to get him in a bigger market and better endorsement deals.
Tony Parker was telling the truth. A complete tear is worse than a strain especially when a strain shouldn't cause you to miss an entire season.
Also, the lashing out happened once they (Ginobili, Parker & Pop) realized he wasn't EVER coming back. The writing was on the wall since March/April....
Anyway, I'm done with Leonard whether he is traded today, tomorrow or next month. He proved to be a bitch and good luck with anyone trying to reign in his "group."
Yes, two years of "discontent" compared to 20 years of being the model franchise that takes care of their guys....

Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
LOL, as a Spurs fan that would be awesome. Kawhi rots in Phoenix and a new era in San Antonio begins. Wonder if they’d take Doncic or Ayton? I’d lean Doncic. I’d be a bit apprehensive about spending a #1 pick for a center who doesn’t play very good defense in today’s NBA.Comment

I imagine Pop would love to get his hands on Doncic.
