2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
The BR potential trade offers are usually way off still I find them fun to read. Here are some for Love If Lebron goes
Lakers Get - Love
Cavs Get - Deng, Hart, Kuzma and 25th pick
Cavs Get - Justin Anderson, Bayless and 10th pick
76ers Get - McCollum
Trailblazers Get - Korver and Love
Cavs Get - Pau Gasol, Derrick White, 18th pick
Spurs Get - Love
Cavs Get - Burks, Jerebko, Udoh, 21st pick this year, lottery protected in 2020
Jazz Get - Love
Cavs Get - Gortat, Jason Smith, 15th pick and future 2nd
Wizards Get - Love
Wizards Get - Love
Hart and Kuzman isn’t a bad return considering they already have to wait out a couple bad contracts, what’s one more with Deng. Not sure why the Lakers would want to move Kuzma, although anything that gets rid of Deng is a good move for them. I think in terms of the direction the Lakers are headed they would want to keep Kuzma unless it was a lock that they would be keeping Randle and Ingram.
I’m assuming the Lakers would only make that trade if it meant Bron and PG or someone were also coming. They definitely wouldn’t make that move to just get Kevin Love lol.
I don’t really like any of those other options from a Cavs perspective. Wizards trade is pathetic lol. Cavs might consider the Blazers trade. They would have the 8th and 10th to either build with or possibly use to trade up with. That could workout for them depending how the draft goes.

Stackhouse ya, but people aren't too sure about Nurse. If you fire a coach because you want change, is replacing him with a guy who has been his assistant for most of his time here the right thing to do? If Nurse is different than Casey then it could pay off. If it's the same thing we've seen the past few years then not so much.Comment

I’ve heard the Kyrie-Knicks deal for the last year and a half. What’s his fascination with him wanting to go there?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
So Kyrie Irving said he won't sign a contract extension right now because it doesn't make sense for him. A lot of the speculation is because of the gambling law changes, the salary cap may "explode" again. Think it's a good gamble for him? Think Ainge may look at shipping him out?
I'm not an expert on the gambling angle by any means, but I know Zach Lowe and Bill Simmons discussed that topic a few weeks back and Bill basically said that he spoke to a bunch of the big players in Vegas and the belief is that the new gambling laws will have virtually no impact on the salary cap.NFL: Bills

IMO Kyrie would be loved in NY more than any other city/team. Stylistically he just he just seems like the quintessential NY superstar to me.Jordan Mychal Lemos

You would think the GM's would learn the lesson but you know its going to happen this summer. Some teams will double down and hand out big contracts.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

LeBron is staying in Cleveland. I don't see him leaving.
But everyone in the media who've been talking like his leaving was such a lock that it was an afterthought somehow are still gonna keep giving their opinions, and won't be saying they were ever wrong.Comment

Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
There’s the obvious majority of me that wants him to stay. So long as he’s in Cleveland, we’re a contender. We’ll always reach the playoffs and usually get pretty deep in.
But there’s this growing part of me that wants him to go some place else. For a couple reasons. The first is that at some point in the near future we’re gonna enter a rebuild, and taking $40m off the payroll would do a lot towards beginning that. The second sort of ties into that, in that, as long as Boston and Philly are coming up, and Golden State retains its core, we can’t be competitive for at least another year while we have some terrible contracts, and by the time we lose the likes of JR and free up big money, LeBron will be 35.
I dunno how good of a rebuild we can have though. We have to build through the draft because nobody wants to move to Cleveland as a free agent unless somebody like Bron is here.Comment

Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
IMO there will be two or three people who will act like they knew it all along, but if he stays I think that most will own up to being completely wrong about it, because everyone has been too vocal and self-assured about him bouncing to pretend otherwise. Many will still come after him for making what will seem at the time to be a bad basketball decision.Jordan Mychal Lemos
