I don't know but I know I had been hearing for a while if Houston didn't make it to the Finals, he was going to go there to play with CP3. And had heard some mumbling (nothing as concrete as James to Houston) that Harden may have been to bring in Bron, think Toronto was the destination for him. Then at like 5pm yesterday new reports came out that he was going to LA instead.

I dont know, there is a lot of spin out there right now and none of the media people know anything. That's what they're hoping for.

Houston has its own problems. Maxing out Chris Paul and matching enough money to keep Capela will have their cap stretched far too much to get LeBron

        Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread

Lebron can play with CP3 in either place and being in LA clearly wins the non-basketball aspects of his decision.

Lets not forget melo has an opt out so he can head to LA with bron and possibly cp3 if they still want to play together to end their careers

Youre also looking at a pretty good return for shipping lonzo out to make room for CP3 in said hypothetical situation.

I can’t wait til this summer because everyone with a Twitter account will claim they have “sources” in regards to Lebron’s FA.

Doesn’t LeBron have a player option he could pick up if he wanted to? So isn’t this “meeting with Cleveland about his decision” just him letting them know whether he’s going to pick up his option or not before the deadline to file for the option? Basically meaning even if he tells Cleveland he’s not picking it up it accomplishes absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things because he could still just sign a new deal with them in July after still dragging out all the free agent meetings, etc. etc.

I really do hope this lebron decision comes out today so FA can really get underway with the rest of the teams/players and so we don't suffer through another month+ of "hes going here"

So Kyrie Irving said he won't sign a contract extension right now because it doesn't make sense for him. A lot of the speculation is because of the gambling law changes, the salary cap may "explode" again. Think it's a good gamble for him? Think Ainge may look at shipping him out?

From the $ side of things it shouldn't matter to Kyrie has someone will pay him big even if he gets hurt again. It def opens the door to be traded if the Celtics want to land a big fish like AD or Leonard. I don't think he will ever be the #1 main guy in Boston he will have to share the spotlight with atleast Tatum and even Stevens to a degree.

Spurs turned down a trade offer from the Celtics for Kawhi at the trade deadline, per Woj. 76ers and Lakers have emerged as interested parties as well.

I don't think the cavs can take anything outside of a top 10 pick for love if they want even value since hes still a 20-10 guy, but I think he ends up with lakers, raptors, pacers, sixers, heat, mavs, grizzlies, hornets, or suns if he gets moved (and he SHOULD be moved if lebron leaves).

As far as kyrie goes, hes smart not to sign an extension now money wise..I think he read he would lose out on 80mil + if he signed now vs next year with boston. I think hes leaving boston or wherever hes at if he gets traded to go somewhere where he can be "the guy" and have all he attention on him. He wants to be a knick but im not sure he wants to share a team with a star in porzingod. Wouldnt be shocked if he just went and took a max offer from some 30-40 win team so he can get all the credit for carrying them.

I think if they cavs get a top 10 pick for him they will have to take on a bad contract to do so.
