How much do you guys know about this sports management company Kawhi's team is trying build? If he's supposed to be the centerpiece it's definitely understandable that they'd want him in LA ect.

That's fair enough man. Seemed like you were drawing out a pattern. If I'm off the mark on that front then that's my bad.

I'm sure the more I post it would seem that way. That's why I posted the timeline and injury info because the story was so muddled that I bet most people are still confused as to what happened and when.

Man I just can’t see a lot of these **** teams risking a package for Kawhi knowing damn well he ain’t going to stay there. Especially since a team like Phoenix or Sacramento probably still won’t even make the playoffs by adding him.

From the Celtics side I think Brown and the Sac pick is risky considering Jaylen is younger, healthier, cheaper, and with that pick they could add another piece to what they have or make a move on a position they actually are in need of. Plus, if we’re being fair, Jaylen is probably better than Kawhi was at this stage of his career, so there’s not saying that they are even for sure wining that trade long term unless they believe Jaylen can’t continue to grow.

Since he wants to go to LA and would likely resign there, do the Clippers actually have the best chance at landing him? They have the 12th and 13th pick that the Spurs could use or even flip to move up, and they could bring back Tobias Harris, and someone like Teodosic and Beverly would be pieces I think would do well under Pop.

Or Philly. Something built around Saric and the 10th pick.

I don’t think they can do much better than a starting level player or 2 and a lottery pick. Nobody is going to give them an established star.

NVM, the relationship is ending soon. I'm just ready for the Spurs to move forward and start rebuilding.

Hopefully, what the team obtains will be to their benefit and not his.

Yeah I don’t expect the Suns or Kings to actually get him, and if he isn’t telling Boston he’ll sign long-term, I wouldn’t offer Jaylen. If he WILL sign long term, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

If Pop is as adamant about trading him anywhere besides the Lakers as people are reporting, I think he ends up with the Clippers. Trading him to the Clippers probably ensures that he isn’t with the Lakers in the long term either, and they still get a good package in return of Tobias, maybe Harrell, and two lottery picks.

He can , technically, force trade to Lakers , by telling all other teams that eh won't sign extension with them.

However , if i am Spurs , i would take 2-3 players and 1-2 1st round picks from LA, and wouldn't touch Deng in all that .That would mean no space for PG or LB.

Spurs don't have to work salary and LA has cap space for it, why make it easier for rival, and they would be crazy to take Deng's contract when they don't have to.Also , i wouldn't offer Jaylen for him as he missed last 2 playoffs. Star or not , availability is best ability.

Still waiting to see what Pop can do , in talks with him.

Lakers would just stretch Deng and still get one of PG or LBJ.

Dang they got you believing he Derrick Rose now? Ouch

Uhh I didn’t say he was Derrick Rose. Just saying if it’s true he’s demanding a trade and wants to be in a big market, which pretty much seems to be fact at this point, he’s not exactly the personality for a big market like LA. Wanting to go somewhere where he can’t really skate by on the silent guy thing he has going. The media is going to be in his face and harsh all the time, the spotlight is going to be squarely on him all the time and he doesn’t carry himself as a guy who wants the spotlight like that.

Idk LA definitely isn't the NY or Chicago media. He won't get too many dbag reporters in his grill.

Yeah there are too many delusional homers in LA to be pushy jerks.

Even if he does tell Pop he wants to come here this is where he's from. I think he can handle that much.

That is what i said, one or another will have no cap space.

In worst case scenario for Spurs (because trading to LAK is exactly that) , at least they can cause some damage to them, if they have no other choice.

As a hawks fan I am absolutely scared to death and will lose sleep every night over it.

Despite having the 3rd pick which is close to impossible to screw up as long as you don't draft young or porter. Then having picks 19, 30 and 34 so a lot of options with trades and stuff with those picks. Then we have cap space to take on a bad contract to add another draft pick which should be the move since no elite FA is coming to atlanta this offseason. Still I have a feeling we will somehow find a way to screw this up
