In more important free agency news. Mavs, Suns, Pacers, and Bulls are all expected to pursue Marcus Smart.

This boogies my mind that this is what they want to waste their cap space on. First of all we have about a thousand guards on the roster as is, the hell do we need another for? Particularly at the price you’ll have to pay him to pry him from Boston since he’s restricted. Second of all why would you want this dude? Defensively cool to have, but he’s an inefficient, turnover prone guard with a ****ty jumper who’s prone to several bonehead plays inbetween all the good he does on the court. Third of all wouldn’t having him AND Kris Dunn be redundant since they’re similar players? Fourth of all, how exactly does he fit into the Hoiball that they’re trying to play and have gone out of their way to build the team around? This is why GarPax could win a championship next year and I’d still be hoping Jerry fires them during the trophy presentation.

King, if it makes you feel better im almost 100% certain smart is either going to dallas to be with his mom or stay in boston unless someone gives him a max and even then im not sure he would accept a contract from a bad team besides the mavs.

I know everyone seems to like Kawhi to the 76ers now that the spurs claim they aren't trading him to West. I don't think I would trade the following for him unless something crazy happens like Lebron joins them also

Fultz, Covington, Z. Smith, heat future 1st, other pieces to make the salary work seems like overkill for a possible 1 year rental

Philadelphia might not be the favorite to land either LeBron James or Kawhi Leonard, but the team has all the resources to acquire both and turn a once-in-a-lifetime pipe dream into a reality

I honestly dont see much trade market for deandre. Maybe the wiz want him and send gortat back to LA with some fillers. I dont think the mavs have anything the clips need/want unless they really just want to get rid of DJ

There's no real trade market for him. If he opts in it's because one team wants him and that trade was agreed to by both sides.

DeAndre Jordan to Dallas is probably the most obvious destination in free agency to me.

Apparently he wants to go to Dallas or Houston but we have Capela, and barring someone like the Mavs signing him to a Max offer sheet (which knowing them, they probably will) we are good. It's funny because he was clearly malcontent this year and his play and specifically his defense showed it. I wouldn't touch him unless we lost Capela, and we're getting him for like 8 million a year.

I think a DeAndre to Washington trade could easily happen if he ends up opting in.
