By the way, when is he off the injury list or whatever? I know NJ plays Sunday, but if he is well after that game we could see him in his first Nets action against the Bobcats on Tuesday.
I think he has to miss 2-3 more games.

I'm basing it on the fact that we all know he can play when he is healthy and when he is happy. The past 2 years he has been neither.

And actually, when he did play last year he was still really good.

That's the problem, though.. he's not motivated at all.

He's definitely not the same that he used to be, after all the injuries and such, and it takes a lot for him to get motivated to play a good game.. I'm sure he'll show up for his first several in Jersey, but after that.. same ole' same ole'

I dont think it's gonna be like that. I really think he wanted out of VC for longer than 2 years but has just now decided to be vocal about it later. It's very evident that he wasn't motivated in Toronto, but a lot of players pick their careers back up when there is a change of scenery.

I still think he would have been a better fit in New York though. The swamp is just not a place to get hyped about basketball. If NJ moves to BK, VC will definitely benefit from the better crowd. Vince just needs a crowd that loves him. Everyone in Toronto started to hate him after a while, which may be part of the reason he wanted out. But like I said, we will see.

Thing is - if he had the fresh legs, I'd be convinced he could turn his career around. Now, though, I'm not sure. He's scared to go to the hole half the time and THAT'S why fans started hating him.. He was known for his highlight reel dunks, but you can't dunk from the three-point line.

Do you think the crowd started hating Vince all of a sudden for no reason? Three years ago, every other kid in elementary school in Canada was wearing a #15 Carter jersey. It's not like VC started to suck because the crowd hated him. If anything, it was the other way around.

Are you watching the same Vince Carter that I've been seeing? I've been seeing a Vince Carter that's content to throw up a dinky running jumper rather than throw it down. Vince hasn't been the same since his injuries, he's afraid to go to the rack. He went to the line nearly 7 times a game in his breakthrough 00-01 season, this year he's going to the line barely 3 and a half times a game, a career low.
