    Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread

I think Luke is a solid hire for Sacramento. Its not like there are a bunch of great coaches clamoring to go there. Plus I think well find out if he's a good coach or just a product of the GS talent.

The Lakers may as well hire Lue or Kidd. They are married to LeBron now. Might as well get one of "his" guys in there. I think their best coarse of action at this point is to go for a guy like Boogie and just run it back. Maybe the youngsters like Ingram take that next step. Then grab a nice vet like Conley (or Beal) in a trade.

It's not hard if you're ESPN, or any media outlet. Even when it makes no sense. Like a Kawhi will want to join that media crazed place, or Kawhis uncle will want to be around Lavar.

Tyronn Lue has become one of those "you don't know what you got until it's gone" type of dudes for me.

The Cavs were top 5 defense in 15-16 when they won the title.

Cavs stormed through the playoffs in 16-17 until they met GS, one of the best teams ever. Your defense can only be so good with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love on the floor.

I think he did the best he could with the rosters he had in Cleveland.

If Pelinka can at a minimum just get better shooters this year and hopefully another big FA, I think Lue could do some good with the Lakers.

If you can't land an all-time great coach, you might as well land a guy that knows how to handle LeBron.

He knew how to handle LeBron.

          For 6 months.

Once that title was won he couldn’t control LeBron. He’s a good coach, but he needs to be somewhere he has the respect and attention of the whole roster, not just 14 dudes and one overbearing superstar. I know Bron is a basketball genius, as a player. But he needs to just be one of the team concerning his coach.

Update: Source tells @TheAthleticNBA that Kings GM Vlade Divac and Luke Walton have already met today and are in the late stages of finalizing a multi-year deal.

Which aligns with my point. He shouldn’t be anywhere near a high profile job and definitely not one where he’s expected to win right away. Hell, Cleveland in its current state or a post-AD New Orleans would be good for him.

Lue was a terrible coach. Larry Drew was a HUGE upgrade to him in 2018 and this year too.

The only reason you hire him is because LeBron. Hopefully he takes that douche Longabardi with him from Cleveland.

Lue isn't doing **** with that Lakers squad, tho.

                    Cleveland didnt want him.

New Orleans doesnt need Lue. Theyre trying to build something post AD.

Ty Lue is great.... if he's your assistant coach.

Apparently this dude Rob Pelinka hit up Jerry Buss without Jeannie's permission.

                          She doesn't like Jerry West

I'm not following this very well. Are those two separate statements, or meant to be related to one another?

                                Same

Basically the management is in shambles. Jeannie still holds something against Jerry West (nobody knows what it is, probably something to do with Dr Buss.)

Other people want him in the organization but she aint entertaning it.

Jeannie and Linda Rambis (yep Kurt's wife) seem to make the decisions, and Linda like's Pelinka, which is why he's there right now.

Nobody likes Rob Pelinka... not anywhere at all... but he is currently the one conducting coaching searches.

Notice they have never addressed the teams situation, only let Kuzma and Josh Hart take the heat in the exit interviews.

Its also said that Jeannie isn't exactly the fondest of Rich Paul and Bron's way of doing business and has given people one year to right things or everyone is on the table to go.
