The Bulls would have to do something like Carter + Dunn or Lavine + Hutchison or Valentine + Parker + 2019 First Rounder.

Man if I were me and I was the Pelicans I would take back Lauri, LaVine, Portis, Lopez expiring and a future first for Davis and Hill, maybe Clark or something too.

Bulls would have Dunn, Clark, Davis, Carter, loads cap space after Hill and Jabari expires this next year, and keep this years first.

Pelicans would be rebuilding while staying competitive, Bulls would be a contender in the East within a year or two. Obviously would only do that if Davis would sign his extension.

What is this "doing right" by Davis? The guy informed the Pelicans he isn't re-signing with them (good) and requested a trade (not good) ten days before the trading deadline in what appears to be a power move to force his way out.

Pelicans organization should do what it is best for them whether that is trading Davis to LA, another team or keep him until the summer or whatever. That is it.

They should, it’s just in the NBA more often than not it seems that teams go out of their way to give the player what he wants if he’s treated them good in his time there. Might not be the case here, and Lakers might not even be what Davis actually wants. It just wouldn’t surprise me at all if he were to say look I want out, I want out now, I don’t want to deal with this all season, I want to go to the Lakers, I’ll waive my trade kicker, that they would most likely make it work. Now maybe the Pelicans aren’t that type of organization, and maybe their relationship with Davis isn’t even a great one, I have no idea, I’m just saying that wouldn’t shock me because I feel as if we’ve seen it happen a lot in this league. I’m not saying that’s what they should do, I wouldn’t do that if I was in their shoes.

            Question for everyone.

What if they don't trade AD? They can wait until the off season or next season.

If they don't trade him. Do you send him home? Do you play him? It's getting weird.

I assume he will just play out the season.

What’s weird to me is them cutting him completely out of their intro video.. maybe it’s just a short term thing to avoid home court boos, but I just watched the side by side comparison and they legit pulled every clip of him out and left him off the screens where it shows basically the whole roster.. if he’s going to be on the team for the rest of the year why are they treating it like he’s basically not a part of the roster.. random. Don’t know that I’ve seen a team do that before.

Edit: I could understand them removing the parts where he was the focal point and replacing it with the team logo (which they did) but they also removed every other part of the video he was in. And the clip where it shows the whole team standing there, he’s just cut out of it.

Maybe some kind of symbolism? It's not just about Anthony Davis. He's part of a team. There's still other guys on that roster, guys who are gonna be impacted by all this.

lol I am still really made lakers let him go and I am not saying to like trade to get him back or any thing lol. I am just saying I am sure there are a lot of teams out of the 30 nba teams that would like to pick up a player like Randle.

That is why I think he will be traded before the deadline because it sounds like they are not going to play him and I dont think you can just sit him.

Yeah it is odd makes me think he is getting closer to being traded already then we are being told and maybe its just a small detail that needs to be complete like wanting a extra draft pick or something.

The video thing is pretty strange if they're going to just going to keep him and play him the rest of the year. It takes a strained situation and cranks it up several more notches.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Maj I definitely think that’s part of it, and it makes complete sense to remove images where he is the focal point for that very reason. But to take him out of the video completely, it’s like jfsolo says in his post just makes the situation worse.

Especially if the reports of him informing his teammates and coach before this news broke is true. Apparently they understood where he was coming from, but ownership/management is apparently so petty they just completely disassociate him from the rest of the team? Just seems strange.

Also on the Randle stuff. Wasn’t it he who asked for them to renounce his rights once they signed LeBron and he knew his role was going to be smaller, and they weren’t going to immediately give him a long term contract? I could have swore that was the report given.. if so that’s not really on the Lakers. They probably would have kept him for a 1 year deal like he has now (without the player option obviously) and maybe even given him the long contract he wanted after this next free agency period. They could have added a big fish, kept him using his bird rights and had Bron, 2nd star, Lonzo, Ingram, Kuzma, Randle.. that’s on him.
