I feel like NBA storylines are like peak-WWE right now in terms of interesting storylines. This is like the Attitude Era of the NBA.

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
I don't think that they "one year rental" is a real thing. It's all posturing, in my opinion. I just don't think the Lakers are going to wait around another year on AD. Especially, if they can add two max players or whatever (I'm not entirely sure if they're cap situation is). Not with 35 year-old LeBron James. Bron is in win now mode so Klutch is pulling out all the stops to force NOLA's hand.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

NBA right now is late 90s WCW lol. Stars getting paid lots, having control over what happens, you have a group dominating everything and feels like everyone is joining them, and all these storylines just have random swerves in them.Last edited by Majingir; 01-29-2019, 07:17 PM.Comment

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
Serious question. When is the last time Ric Bucher has been right about anything? Like, I'm trying to run through my mind all the Ric Bucher reports we've gotten over the last few years and I can't think of any that have been even remotely close to accurate to what has happened.Comment

Rephrasing a bit, whether it's a one year rental or not how many teams do you think top their trade knowing there is at least a chance that it's a rental. Unless we are assuming there are teams out there that he would for sure let them know ahead of time that he would resign.
For example this Lakers package of multiple starting-level players and likely a couple first round picks if forced would definitely top the Kawhi return of basically just DeRozan.. I don't know many teams who are going to ship off a star who's locked up for Davis who could be one year. Especially if those teams might not have peaked the way Toronto appeared to. And I don't think a team who lands a top 3 or so pick in this years draft is shipping that out with the hope of landing a player who 1.) might leave and 2.) Doesn't make them a contender anyways.
If his primary focus on wanting out is to be on a contending team the list of teams who could acquire him without giving up the other pieces that make them a contender is pretty short. Unless the Pelicans really would just trade him to whoever, but I don't think they would do that with the way he's handled his business over the past 7 years.Comment

I don't know whether to scoff at these Knicks reports or be angry that this dumb franchise is going 2011 all over again.

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
I would trade just about anything but Porzingod for him if I were in their shoes.. Only problem is if the Knicks land AD now that first round pick isn't going to be a top 3 pick, not with Davis on the team. So why would the Pelicans trade away Davis for just an average pick.. And if they wait until after the season and it is a top 3 pick, say they get Zion, I'm probably not offering him up for what could be one year of Davis if i'm the Knicks.Comment
