    Re: 2019 Offseason Thread

Damn. The Toronto Raptors have just secured back-to-back NBA titles.

Guard Cameron Payne has agreed to a two-year deal with the Raptors per Shams.

How this bum is still in the league getting money is unreal. Then Shams writes

After a strong summer league, the former OKC Thunder lottery pick receives partial guarantees in first season and an opportunity to compete for reserve PG spot in Toronto
Of course he had a "strong summer league" dude will be 25 years old next month and has been in the NBA for 4 years. Him playing in the summer league is like the equivalent of LeBron showing up at the Y and beating people's asses. He should look good against people who will be lucky to sniff a G-League roster. But keep on giving him chances to suck ***.

Might be playing out a couple of years.. I doubt a team wants that contract this next season either, considering CP3 will likely take that player option.

Tough spot for CP3.. does he ask to agree on a buyout amount? I can’t imagine him not taking all that money, at least for one year. But nobody is going to want that contract at this stage in his career. There are very few teams where that would make sense.

Apparently the Heat deal fell apart over picks. A Denver move could have maybe worked, but gives them no roster leverage moving forward, puts them in the tax after this year, and his style takes the ball out of Jokic and Murray’s hands..

Dallas could send Hardaway JR and use the rest of Barnes trade exception to bring him in.. but not sure why OKC would want THJ other than the fact that it might be an expiring deal for them..

JR Smith will have a free-agent meeting with the Bucks today in Milwaukee, per @ShamsCharania.

                    That's him in Milwaukee's airport

Now that would be another great pick up by the Bucks... He could go back to coming off the bench. But I think Matthews is a lock for the SG spot. JR would give them even more range. But all that space he would operate out of in the 5 OUT would be great for him.

CP3 is still better than a lot of the PG in the league but he is 34 and clearly on the decline and his contract is the big issue. I heard some one say they dont think its the contract that is the issue lol. Its the contract again he is still better then a lot of PG in the league but because of his contract trying to get him onto a contender is going to be really hard. A team that is a contender is not going to be able to just simple fit his contract on there team and because of the contract to even trade for him you are going to have to like give up to much for him most likely to make the contracts work un less you have like some one on your team to that is like way over paid that the other team is willing to take but I dont see why the other team would do that either.

Isola and Begley reporting the Spurs are mad about Morris reneging, and that the Knicks did it partially because they believe the Spurs "operated outside of accepted NBA norms" when the Unisnake was still on the team.

Rockets are the only Texas team we acknowledge.

Sounds like they went past regular tampering into extreme tampering. Once you let a team talk to a guy, how do you control what they are/aren't talking about? It just goes back to David Aldridge's point, they're going to have to ditch the rule altogether.

                                Bucks better get him.
