No controversies, no lazy narratives/takes or media created storylines just so you can keep the casuals invested, just straight Basketball like it should be.

Are any of the remaining series carried by media created narratives or controversies, though?

I would think mostly everyone tuning in are doing so because we have 8 teams full of hoopers and all series could legitimately go either way.

These two teams being the two most low profile doesn’t exactly make this specific series any more pure.

No they aren't.

The media creates stories every year in the playoffs one way or another.

The NBA is about it's entertainment and that's just how it is. They used to write themselves but it's not like that anymore, especially in the social media age.


Anyway it's a case of the small market teams the NBA doesn't plaster all over TV during the season at play right now.

The weird thing to me is the talking heads seem to act like this isn't a watchable series, like no one cares, or no one would bother to stay up late because it's not GSW v Houston, when in reality this has been just as compelling if not MORE compelling than the other WC matchup

edit: I better walk that back, the other series in the west has more storylines especially with Harden recovering from the eye injury in Houston's revenge tour, but as far as on court action this series is as good as it gets

Yeah and they have needed it. Nuggets have a lot of solid players but out side of Joker they dont have any one I would say is allstar/superstar but Murray is the one that can play like it at times and with how the games have been close they have need his great play.

Rockets-Warriors was all about who’s benefitting the most from officiating. Scott ****ing Foster was trending and was pretty much a storyline by himself because he supposedly screws the Rockets out of a win every single time. Now it’s about Steph and whether or not he’s holding the Warriors back this postseason.

Yet, he officiated the Nuggets-Blazers game and not a peep was made about that at all, as far as I know.

I also threw in the purist part because from an Xs and Os standpoint, this is the series to watch where it’s not dominated by ball dominant ISO possessions 70% of the time.

Yeah that's big for me, I don't get to see these teams very much throughout the year and especially Jokic has been a delight, I look forward to Denver games now just to watch his crazy passing skills

I just ignore it as much as I can during losses because it gets a bit much during those times. Everyone has opinions in situations like that, acting like their criticism is the one everyone should listen to.


Despite shutting out "outside noise ", I do agree with Mark Cuban. Ref problem seems to be more because of the lack of proper development of the refs. Have clear guidelines in GLeague, promote the best refs there. In NBA, you have refs who weren't properly trained or developed to NBA style to begin with, now becoming senior refs, and when they get told to change something, do you think some senior official is gonna change their ways?

Of course fans will magnify a refs calls in close games. The point though is that you should never know a ref by name. Maybe NBA could help as well? Send memo to all regional and national broadcasters to never refer to a ref by name. It's not about them. Fans shouldn't recognize Tony Brothers or Scott Foster more than they do the average player
