On the flip side, there's also times where trades are requested and the result is, "Meh, yeah, makes sense." Matthew Stafford requested a deal a few weeks back and things worked out without Stafford having to slash anyone's tires on the way out.

      In short, nuance.
We’re all well aware of all the trade requests that have been made since 2004 and we’re all well aware that it never ended well for the player from a PR standpoint.

And Matthew Stafford is an apples/oranges comparison to NBA players making trade requests but that’s a whole other discussion in itself.

He comes to mind because the narrative around the Rockets is no one requested a trade, Harden shipped them all in or out. I also just don’t agree at all that people only remember trade requests that turned ugly.

I don't think I'm in agreement with you on that, particularly considering Derrick Rose requested a trade two weeks ago and the general consensus was, "... Yeah... that's probably a good move there."

I don't exactly have a photographic memory of all trade and buyout requests that have come prior but I'm guessing Derrick wasn't the first one to have his request granted or acknowledged without scandalous backlash.

I also guess I'm back to not understanding what the end game is here. We want to try to find a way for teams and fans to be happy about a player wanting to leave and just turn the other way if they happen to act a fool until things work out as they please? Or do we want to manufacture discontent with organizations who make moves they find most fitting with the players they have under contract?

Probably has more to do with the fact that Rose is in his 30s, isn’t the same Rose that we watched pre-ACL tear and the fact that he’s a role player(keyword) possibly on the last legs of his career.

And it’s not about trying to find a solution/endgame nor has anyone asked for one. It’s just about acknowledging the obvious double standard that exists. Dassit.

However, regarding Drummond, news regarding his benching broke at like 2PM ET yesterday and was trending for hours, before the Blake news even broke. It was pretty much still breakfast time where Dre was when that news came down.

Separately, I'm relatively certain Drummond will have co-signed anything someone said in his favor, regardless of accuracy.
Ah, I stand corrected then if thats the case.

but to your first point- I believe situations like those are something the NBA CAN actually protect players from as Draymond suggested.

Expecting Twitter to become a place of level headed discussion or the media to stop pushing drama to the forefront is an exercise in futility.

Haven't gotten to watch much of Anthony Edward's but he's having a solid game tonight..

Also, I don't know how these guys are able to put masks on when they go to the bench ..

His last few games have been good.

Edit: just to add without Russell. He gets to take more shots now.

Little Things: This Suns’ DJ is playing some [emoji91] during this game, lol

Might have to put him up there with the Spurs’ DJ and the Hawks’ Sir Foster(I’m 99% certain I’m the only one here that notices or cares about stuff like this lmao)

The Jazz this year remind me a ton of the Rockets of the mid 90s and the Pistons of the 2000s (a little more so the Pistons if we're being totally honest). No real go to scorer, as I dont think Mitchell is quite ready to embrace the alpha role yet, but the sum of the parts is definitely greater than the whole, especially defensively
