If Lakers lose the play in, how soon before NBA ditches the concept?

Next season, they don't even have to be slick about it. They can just say "well things are back to normal, we have the 82 game schedule back so we don't need the tournament anymore"

The Jazz will allow 13k fans in for playoff games in Utah, about 70% capacity

And people were saying midway through the season that home court isn't gonna mean anything lol

Clippers tanking? They sat out Kawhi, PG and Pat Bev tonight, about to lose to the Rockets. Denver won and owns the tiebreaker so Nuggets jump to 3rd seed, LAC falls to 4th.


Some are reading this as Clippers trying to avoid the Lakers in the first round.


Just like some thought Lakers were trying to avoid Clippers in the first round by gunning for the 7th seed. Lol.

Yeah this is definitely some serious tanking and match up hunting going on in these playoffs. You don't sit your stars and start some dude named Scrubb trying to win games.



Whoever it was that said you don't believe anyone has ever tanked before for match ups in the playoffs, LOL.

Maybe in the final game, but still so much can happen.

Clippers could be 3rd or 4th.

Lakers could be 5th, 6th or 7th.

So you cant exactly avoid a matchup when there's still 6 different scenarios which could happen, 2 of them have you playing the team you don't want to play.

You're not giving these teams enough credit for strategizing their matchups. Literally no one wants to play the Lakers in the first round cause why would they?

Yeah, it's been really hard to follow but luckily there's guys on Twitter and reddit taking care of that.


Basically Denver gets to choose their opponent now. If they want the Lakers, they try to beat Portland. If they want Dallas, they tank and let Portland win.


I think we all know what matchup they'd rather have, lol

Guys are trying to solve the tanking issue hard now cause of the Lakers lol. I don't hate this proposal though:


- Let seeds 1-4 choose between seeds 5-8 who they wanna play. 1st seed chooses first, 2nd seed chooses second, etc.
- Keep 72 Games
- Keep Play-In
- Flatter lottery odds

Also, wouldn't you rather play the Lakers early in the playoffs, as opposed to later when they've had weeks to get back into a groove?

Or if the idea is to hope another teams beats them so you don't have to play them, good luck against the team that beats them. Unfortunately you can't just play the Blazers and get a bye to the Finals.

It's mostly Suns fans that are upset and can't blame em. First time in the playoffs in over a decade, bust *** to finish as a top 2 seed, and get "rewarded" with the Lakers just cause they've been injured all year, not cause they're that much worse this year.
