Re: 2021 Offseason Thread
Interesting. Why hire him in the first place? Seems unlikely that visions would have changed in such a short period of time."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 2021 Offseason Thread
I don't know. He said something after they got knocked out along the lines of "Ask Cuban if I'll be back next year" as if he wants to be and then Cuban basically said he'll be back so I kinda assume that's the case.
Could be that he was interested in Milwaukee in the event that Dallas doesn't bring him back and Fischer is just hearing half the story.NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

Re: 2021 Offseason Thread
I can see both arguments for keeping him one more year but I understand why they wouldn’t wait.
As much as I would hate for them to go the retread route again, I wouldn’t mind them taking a shot at Van Gundy.#RespectTheCultureComment

Covid threw me off my game and I just hadn't felt the inspiration. Site feels dead outside of the basketball threads.

It was tough watching regular-season games in empty or sparsely attended arenas. Grateful that we're almost back to normal."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Doncic: GM Nelson's exit was tough for me
Nelson scouted Doncic and was very influential in the Mavs' decision to trade up for the ex-Real Madrid star in the draft.
"It was kind of tough to me. I really like Donnie. I know him since I was a kid, and he was the one that drafted me," Doncic told reporters Thursday at a Slovenian national team press conference, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times. "It was tough for me seeing that, but I'm not the one making decisions there."
The recent departure of longtime Dallas Mavericks general manager and president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson hit a soft spot for Luka Doncic.Nelson scouted Doncic and was very influential in the Mavs' decision to trade up for the ex-Real Madrid star in the draft."It was kind of tough to me. I really like Donnie. I know him since I was a kid, and he was the one that drafted me," Doncic told reporters Thursday at a Slovenian national team press conference, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times. "It was tough for me seeing that, but I'm not the one making decisions there."Dallas' decision to part ways with Nelson comes a few days after a report indicated a power struggle within the organization.Haralabos "Bob" Voulgaris, a former sports gambler who now serves as the Mavs' director of quantitative research and development, has reportedly become an influential part of the team's personnel decisions.Doncic apparently doesn't see eye to eye with Voulgaris but still intends to sign a super-max contract extension with the club this offseason, sources told The Athletic's Tim Cato and Sam Amick.Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has denied the report regarding Voulgaris, whose contract is said to be expiring this summer."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
