Re: Anyone see the KG interview

They have a point about KG, tho. KG's one of my favorite players, but I also questioned him turning down 115 mil, then accepting 120 mil and saying "It's not about the money". And Minnesotta was stupid for giving him that contract back then, as he was still unproven, and his fat contract set them back.

Difference between him and MJ is MJ was, marketwise, severely underpaid all the years prior to his first retirement. Him getting 30 mil a year from the Bulls when he first came back was the equivalent a big *** "Thank You" from Chicago for all he did for them.

i think they might have seen that he was gonna be a franchise player and wanted to keep him around. i dont think you guys realize there were other teams offering more money than the twolves were offering him but he wanted to stick with the twolves so they agreed to the 120.

I dont know AIR. You wouldnt take it being a young guy in the L? They gave that kind of money to Juwan Howard and Zo. You'd honestly turn down 120 mil especially when you know you'd make the organization lots of money?

IMO that's not right. Minnesota messed up when they got caught trying to illegally sign Joe Smith. That set them back about 7 years worth of draft picks. That hurt Minnesota tremendously, as it pretty much eliminated and trades, trade packages or pick swaps they could or would have made over the years.

Another thing I dont agree with is that Wally Sczerbiak should have been traded long ago. He is just not 2nd option material IMO. He can shoot, but when he drives, he hardly ever converts unless the lane has red carpet laid out. He can't create shots for anyone else, and his value has suffered alot over the past few years now that he has had all of the injuries and his best performance in Minny is past him. With the nice size contract they gave him to me it just isnt worth it. They would be better off packaging him for a more servicable player. Not that he's completely garbage, but in hot game situations he makes some of the worst decisions of all the players on the team. (no Kandi jokes intended)

I agree MJ Magic Bird, most of those guys were vastly underpaid. MJ's 30 million dollar contract didnt come to until his last couple of years when it was a given he'd be leaving. I still say for all he did for that city and organization,Reinsdorf should've sold him half the team.

Unproven? The season before that he averaged 18 and almost 10 boards and the kid was barely 20. Stupid? Minnesota would be a lottery team if they balked and let him sign w/ someone else.

Yeah, but at 120 Mil, they couldn't sign any high profile free agents (it takes at least two stars to win in the NBA these days), got caught in the Joe Smith situation, and had Maubury leave the team (his stupid @ss fault, but still Minnesota should have pampered him if they were gonna pamper KG).

And 18 and 10 ain't worth 120 Mil to me. That's why the owners are dumb-@sses to me--paying these dudes on potential instead of production. It took YEARS for KG to get them out of the 1st Round of the playoffs.
