Re: 1/11 - 1/24 Games Discussion Thread
I feel bad for Alex, and obviously we know Allen’s reputation, but I’ve watched that replay many times over and over and I really don’t think that looked to be a play with any sort of intent or something I would call “dirty”..
To me he went for the a block and he missed the chance for a clean block and fouled him, knowing that it it looks like he came by with the 2nd hand just to make sure it wouldn’t be an and1.
Had he wanted it to be a hard dirty foul I don’t think there would have even been an effort at a clean block, or a need for him to deliberately avoid all body contact. He could have just hit him.. obviously the outcome was bad, even with no injury the fall itself made it worse.. I just don’t think it looked malicious IMO.
It’s just one of those plays where Caruso lands on his feet there likely isn’t even a flagrant called, and if it wasn’t Grayson Allen we probably aren’t just assuming it was dirty.. The more I watch it the more that’s how I feel anyways, I thought it was a dirty play in the moment too.Comment

Yeah, if the Bulls end up losing him for the season, someone on their team has to eat the fine/suspension, the next time they play the Bucks.
And the people that run these team accounts be doing too much also.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 1/11 - 1/24 Games Discussion Thread
I agree that it wasn't that bad, but Allen doesn't get the benefit of the doubt anymore. Someone needs to check him hard and after that 1-to-1 on any suspect play from him. Enough of him.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

I think I see where OJ is going with because I saw this before OJ posted.
I am not defending Allen's reputation, just gives me a bit of a different
perspective vs my gut reaction from last night.
I am not saying he doesn't deserve to be suspended and didn't deserve
a flagrant 2, but intentional dirty, no, because on this shot, he is going after
the ball. I just don't feel you can go for the ball in one swoop and intentional dirty
with the other arm on the wrap around. I might be wrong, though, too, I have been
before.

Nope, he could have went for the ball at the top and pulled back instead he grabbed both arms when he flew by. When someone is in the air like that, it is 100% a dirty play.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: 1/11 - 1/24 Games Discussion Thread
King, I get that he could have checked with him after the game, but, at that moment, several Bulls players were surrounding Caruso and Bucks players were trying to get Allen back to the bench. Allen probably didn't want to go up to Caruso with all the Bulls around him.
After the game, I agree some effort should have been made.Last edited by roadman; 01-22-2022, 06:03 PM.Comment

Re: 1/11 - 1/24 Games Discussion Thread
He’s been doing this since his dook days and it hasn’t stopped. Regardless if it’s intentional or not(none of them are intentional, we already know guys aren’t out there literally to hurt others on the court)it keeps happening “more often” with him than any other player and that’s a problem. And I’m sure he’s heard this from quite a few people and I imagine some of them have told him “Keep playing hard, you’re fine, they’re wrong” nonsense.#RespectTheCultureComment
