Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
If the season ends today, the Hawks 1st is around 15th.
A borderline lottery pick which could become a lottery pick if they lose the play in.
That's just pick 1 of up to 5 firsts.Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
OG is the 2nd most likely guy to be moved according to betting odds.
Crowder is 1st.
OGs brother recently liked a tweet linking him to Phoenix. Perhaps he actually wants out too?
This would be the best time to deal him. He has a player option in 24/25 which he'll decline, so dealing him in offseason or next deadline would be him on an expiring deal, compared to now where teams have him for 2 playoff runs.Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
Olden Polynice
Once upon a time he was traded (as the 8th pick in 87) along with a 1988 2nd and 1989 1st to the Bulls for the 5th overall pick in 87 and 1st rounder in 89.
The Sonics later traded that 1st rounder in 89 back to Chicago for Brad Sellers.
The Bulls would get some guy named Scottie Pippen as that 5th overall pick, and drafted BJ Armstrong with one of those firsts, and all the Sonics had left was Polynice.
He did, but at the same time, if he's ruled out the whole road trip, that basically takes them to the deadline.Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
Rumours are swirling and the team north of the border finds itself at the centre of the storm with a week to go before one of the most anticipated days on the NBA calendar, Josh Lewenberg writes.
Raptors apparently were close to a sign and trade with the Suns for Ayton last year.
I wonder what a current version of that deal even looks like if FVV,OG are the 2 main pieces going the other way.
I'd love building a team around Ayton,Siakam,Barnes,Trent. Even hope to add some veteran PG to start next year or something. Maybe get lucky in the lottery, or find some way to deal what could be a bottom 5 pick to move into the 2nd pick and get Scoot. Or deal Trent for a PG and draft a SG since the top 10 seems to have lots of SG in it.Last edited by Majingir; 02-02-2023, 06:52 PM.Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
All Star Reserves announced. And of course already talks of snubs. I hate when that happens because to me a true “snub” means somebody who shouldn’t have made it made it, but most of the snub talk is usually is between two guys who were really really close anyways.. they can’t all make it obviously.
West - Ja, Shai, Dame, JJJ, Sabonis, Lauri, PG
East- Joel, Jaylen, Bam, Randle, DeRozan, Jrue, Halliburton
“Snubs” I’ve already seen listed: Harden, Fox, Ant, Jimmy, Brunson, Trae, Garland, Siakam, AD.Comment

I thought Lauri would succeed with us but if you told me 5 months ago that he'd be an All-Star I'd think you were crazy
25 and 8 while shooting 52/43/87... this man is starting to live up to that Dirk comparison lolLast edited by JazzMan; 02-02-2023, 09:38 PM.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus

Jackson is someone I'm not crazy about. I think Fox should of made it. But this looks clearly like a position problem. That's the crazy I ask myself. Who do you take off?Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
As someone who’s obviously glad JJJ is getting some respect I’m not sure I agree with him getting it over Aaron Gordon. Assuming we are keeping it somewhat position based. Maybe that’s putting a bit too much emphasis on team record but he had a huge role in how successful they’ve been especially with Murray and MPJ missing games too.
Zinger, Kuz, Keldon, Grant, Wood would all be in that mix too. Think it’s cool that gave a defensive player some emphasis, and Memphis being around the top of the West all year I’m sure plays a role. But he’s also missed like 20 games. All those dudes (along with JJJ and Gordon) are just kinda in that “really good role player” territory. AD missing so many games is what really hurts the spot.
In the East maybe you have an argument against DeRozan, Jrue, or Bam. But none of them are bad choices. DeRozan is still scoring a ton, Bam is 20&10 with defense and additional big man play-making.
Maybe Harden has missed too many games, but an efficient 21 and 11 while maybe most importantly helping Embiid have his best year yet feels overlooked a tad. Just 3 games off Boston, I’d probably lean Harden over Jrue and maybe DeRozan.Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
I think it’s just tough because of the position. Fox has had a great year, but it’s Ja, Shai, Dame. As good as he’s been I’m not sure I’d entertain that he’s been better than those 3. Not sure exactly how bench selections work, but I’m assuming 4 point guards isn’t ideal.
Always thought it was going to be tough for Brunson too. Haliburton felt like a lock to me. And while he could have had Jrue’s spot he would have still been competing with Harden, Garland, Trae.Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
I'm alright with Harden not getting in, if it is based on missed games. Availability should play a factor. But, this has been an efficient year. When the trade was made, this is the Harden fans wanted. I still would have preferred Dame, but as the team is constructed, this version of Harden is a great fit
Hopefully this motivates himComment
