Not privileged in the broader sense, he just didn't have to go through the struggles of street life. He grew up middle class. Both parents went to college and they owned a home. He grew up in Dalzell which is a very small town.
I know as a white dude I may be on dangerous ground here because often its veiled racism. But I came up from Curtis Bay and Cherry Hill. I hate when county cats claim the city, like when a dude claim Baltimore but is from Glen Burnie knowing damn well they ain't going to go too far down Church St. And Ja Morant acting up in his own house and punking mall security guards and playing like he got stripes. I mean dude hit a kid at his house, walked inside and came back out with a gun in his waistband? You put on a gun in your pants like you are on the block in your own damn house?? Thats clown **** man.
Maybe it bothers me more because I am white but struggled coming up, and people see me (master's degree and a good income) and assume I'm your run of the mill white suburban dude. Then a see a guy making millions (good for him, not hating on that) that never saw or went through the things I went through but he's out there playing make believe like he did.
I probably shared way too much lol but yeah thats where I'm coming from
