He clearly wants to be seen in the same light that Embiid, Jokic, and Antetokounmpo (who plays some center) are so these comments aren't shocking.

He just needs to get healthy and have multiple long runs in the playoffs at this point. Getting to the playoffs 3 times (never getting out of the 1st round) in 8 years is unacceptable for a former #1 pick.

(I'm still riding with my Dominican hermano in his "hatred" or dislike of Jimmy Butler, though. [emoji38][emoji28])

Anybody check out this Lakers Documentary on Hulu?

I remember it was on around the same time as the “Winning Time” series on HBOMax but i was more into that at the time.

Never watched it but I remember what you’re talking about.

Also winning time comes back I think August 6th. Pretty pumped for that.

Turning 275m into 3b..while owning a team that has finished above .500 three times in over a decade, had a season where they won 10% of their games (short season but still), and won 0 playoff rounds.

That probably says more about the league than the franchise itself, but still impressive.

Though I do hope Charlotte does break out one year. They deserve it more than almost any franchise in the league with all the misery they've dealt with.

Especially with all the lottery misluck. Didn't they only win 7 games and ended up #2 in the AD draft and ended up with MKG lol.

I do think if they could pull off a trade for a vet proven player, I would take that trade if I was Charlotte. I do think that Zion stuff is plausible, especially if the stuff about Zion not being fully invested in the team or attacking rehabs. Injury concerns for both Zion and Ball, but that surely will be a fun team to watch

The Documentary pretty much tells the history of the Lakers from the time Buss bought them up to the bubble.

I’m 4 episodes in(right at the beginning of the Lake Show Era Lakers)and it’s pretty good so far. Had no idea the Riots happened while they were in the playoffs and forced them to play in Vegas for a game.

I've always had a latent interest in "relocation" games in history. Kind of similar to my interest in games where players had to wear different jersey numbers.

The Clippers had to relocate one of their games that same postseason to the Anaheim Convention Center. Super strange environ, capacity well under 10K. Used a handheld airhorn for substitutions.

The Pistons had to relocate a few games in the 80's, one when the Silverdome roof collapsed (Cobo Arena would often stand in) and another when motocross was already booked, leading to the classic Bernard King-Isiah Thomas duel being played at the Red Wings' Joe Louis Arena.

I've always wondered how different hockey and basketball would be if the draft happened after free agency.

You now know what you have and don't have and what's available, so your approach to the draft changes so much and it could drastically impact who you take and a guys overall development on a team.

That's exactly where I was going with this lol. I would 100% rather have the draft after Free Agency started. It would definitely change your approach in the draft. My approach is fill immediate needs in Free Agency and draft for the future. You can tell when teams are drafting as if they're trying to feel immediate needs not knowing what will happen in FA. Let's say a team like Pacers who has 5 draft picks and has needs at Forwards spots. If you can sign a guy like Kuzma before the draft. That would 100% change the way they would handle the #7 pick. Instead of forcing need picks, you can take a chance on a player that might have higher upside. Or you're a team like Pacers and Charlotte with 5 picks and you know you can't draft all 5 players and still have enough roster spots in Free agency as well. Sometimes draft and stash picks are a waste sometimes because the team doesn't have the roster spots for the pick or they end up selling it.

I would move the draft a week after Free Agency officially starts. Most of the key Free agents sign within the legal tampering window. With the big name star players rarely reaching Free Agency anymore, the whole wining and dining part of free agency doesn't happen anymore. So if the league year starts July 1st, have the draft on the following Thursday. The first wave of Free Agency would decide how teams would approach the draft

Clippers should have moved to Anaheim instead of going to Inglewood imo.
