    Yup.

He was pretty much looking for the perfect opening to leave. He’ll try to hide behind the “crime” reasoning even if that’s silly by itself.

Folks can say what they want about Snyder/Commanders but they always made an effort across the area. They would hold events in Ashburn, DC, Waldorf and as far out as Mo County/Howard/PG County. Ted wants to say this is “the DMV’s team” but rarely did anything outside of VA. His actions were always that of someone who would rather be in VA than DC.

I know he asked for funding from the city before so I thought this could have been just a ploy to get more money, but then I saw that he was at the press conference with the local lawmakers to announce the plans and thought to myself there goes the just a ploy possibility.

But is it feasible to move the Caps and Wiz while leaving the Mystics in DC? Don't imagine the Mystics generate enough revenue for DC to make them happy and I can't imagine Ted would be okay with paying the Capitol One rent just for the Mystics. Why does it feel like for the Mystics that mommy and daddy are getting a divorce and aren't sure who is getting custody

I was hearing on the news that they are planning to remove seats if the Mystics move in and make it 10K capacity.

I think they should let some of the DC colleges share it. Let Howard play there.

That would lower the overhead of operations, but I wouldn't expect it to affect the lease.

I can't fault Ted though. He asked for funding and the city didn't respond, but funnily within days of this deal becoming news were able to put an offer forward. Like Pack alluded to, this deal was likely in the works for a while. Seems Ted gave the district an opportunity to keep the teams but the district didn't respond in the way that would do so.

Overall, he has done a good job. Got off of the Horford contract, traded Josh Richardson for Seth Curry, solid 2nd round picks, Niang was a good signing, not sure there would've been better moves for Simmons and Harden considering drama for both. But, that doesn't discount some of the blips that it was obvious that it was influenced by HC or ownership. Signing washed up centers because Doc wouldn't play young guys, cutting Isaiah Joe and Bassey for luxury tax purposes and to sign another washed up center in Dedmon. The Thybulle trade was essentially to get under the tax and letting McDaniels walk. They could have moved Thybulle when his value was much higher. And while I'm not sure how much better he could've done with the Simmons trade, not sure if he was going to go a non-Harden route. I think he would've waited to the offseason to trade for him if needed to. And he would've likely given Harden a 3-4 Kyrie esque deal if Harden didn't panick and opt in.

Four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins signed a contract with the Taiwan Beer Leopards of the T1 League and is set to make his debut for the team next month.

                        We lost Eric Montross

Former North Carolina and NBA player Eric Montross dies of cancer at 52; won NCAA title in 1993, played for six NBA teams

                        It's crazy at 52.

Look fellas I know it's not my place. But man go get that check up. We are getting old.

When I think of Eric Montross, my first association is that huge trade between the Mavs and Nets. Maybe I'm wrong, but trades with that many players seemed way way less frequent back then compared to now. But that era was basically my introduction to the NBA, and all of the trades, drafts, rookie seasons, playoff moments, etc, are pretty indelible in my mind.

I vaguely remember him with the Raptors.

Part of the JYD deal that brought fan fave Jerome Williams to Toronto and somehow they dealt a 1st round pick 4 years later as part of this. That pick winded up being Fran Vazquez, the only guy from the 05 first round to never play a game.

In his final season with the Raptors he served as Hakeems backup.
