Especially when it is likely compulsive behavior based on past trauma.

I hope the kid - like Primo - can get the help he needs and earns a shot elsewhere or overseas.

I can't speak on the reasons for him being released. It does seem like far too great of a coincidence to not be related.

But I've got zero objection to releasing a player over such a petty crime. In fact I'd probably release him even quicker. Stealing just to be stealing is about as dumb as you can get.

Not an NBA team's job (or any employer) to help you heal your trauma. Especially a fringe rotation guy. Nothing wrong with a team saying "we hope you get the help you need but it won't be here."

      This is where I land.

Plus, if you’re going to steal something, steal something worth a damn. Not no body wash, laundry detergent BS from Target on MULTIPLE occasions. That’s struggle/broke dude behavior and he ain’t that.

And from what I read, the stuff he stole was worth like $1,000. That is stuff the team could probably provide you with for free. If he didn’t wanna be released, he also could’ve…not stolen anything. But this on him.

I didn't know there was this kind of rule

The NBA will allow Charlotte's LaMelo Ball to keep uncovered a tattoo below his left ear that previously had been considered a violation of league rules against commercial logos, sources told ESPN on Friday.

NBA has always taken logos seriously.

Its the other direction but remember back in the day they would fine dudes for wearing their headbands inside out so that the logo wasn't visible?

People, it's called kleptomania for a reason.

Obviously, they aren't his parents but his employer, so they don't have to retain him or help deal with his issue. But, it is maddeningly hypocritical that we accept guys that commit felonies to remain a team (Miles Bridges & Draymond Green if it wasn't on an NBA court), but a petty *** theft deserves 'zero tolerance.'

Yeah, I think that **** should be the other way around, but obviously, his low standing on the team means he has to go.

Suspend the kid 'indefinitely' (maybe 12 games will do) and let the legal system take its course.

Pretty disgusting and sad low point for the Bulls and their fanbase.

Well, boos did die down and some began to cheer once the PA guy said she was in attendance. Still, she was clearly distraught from the initial reaction. SMDH

Those fans gotta let those fake *** (MJ & Phil created) bad feelings go and realize everyone in the organization - not just MJ alone - made that team great.

Embarrassing. Anyone still holding onto a grudge for 25 years and 7 years after this dude died…man, grow the **** up and move the **** on. It’s just supposed to be a generic event to celebrate the team. Do some polite applause (or be silent, I guess) for ten seconds and be done with it. Booing a dead guy when his wife’s sitting there? Damn, man.

Also embarrassing (but not nearly the same level), a handful of guys were just left to be introduced as members of the 95-96 team. Steve Kerr can’t get an individual mention like everyone else and he’s sitting right there? Luc Longley flew in from wherever the hell he lives now and gets lumped into a “here are some other guys from the 90s Bulls!” moment.

This thing was cheap as hell.

Nobody here said he should be done or never play again. If someone wants to sign him to their roster, I promise no one here will have any issue with it. But if you want to keep playing stupid games, then don’t be surprised when you win stupid prizes.

I promise this is one of those things we don’t need to defend nor put under the umbrella of “Mental Health”.

Trying to tie this into Bridges/Green was funny, I’ll give you that one lol

It's also awkward with that Bulls ceremony that you did all that just for Jordan, Pippen and Rodman to not even be there.

I'm sure he'll get another opportunity, likely in Summer League, but until all the facts come out I'll drop it.

It makes more sense when you know they just came up with this thing a month and a half ago. There wasn't a lot of thought put into it.

Celebrating the anniversary of THE dynasty in sports, and they couldn't care to put any sort of proper planning into it...

It should've happened last year though since that was the 25th anniversary.
