And what do the Lakers do now at Center. Hitched their wagon on Williams. A vet min signing maybe

Lakers failed Williams physicals. He had multiple issues. It had to be concerning. Caleb Martin had issues with his physical and Dallas just made Philly give up another pick.

They’ll likely waive a couple guys and go the buyout route

Theis is the only guy I see who has been waived so far that maybe they could add.

Too bad this deal fell through so late because I know the Lakers were rumored to be looking at a guy like Boucher too.

Unfortunate too because they need a starting caliber center. Unless there is a surprise waiver, they’ll have to settle on a 3rd center caliber center or some washed up vet center.

This is the one downside of teams waiting until final days to make a move.

I wonder how much Ainge had Kessler up for. Was the same package not enough. But, they should’ve called up Magic for Goga Bitadze. Orlando’s 3pt numbers have been terrible and have more than enough size.

Sounds like the Hornets might have rushed to get the deal done (and obviously hoping Williams would pass the physical).

Makes sense given how random it seemed for a tanking team to be trading a 23 year old starting C. Guess we know why now, they wanted to get rid of him while his value is high and hoping his health didn't impact the deal.

he wants the moon for him so I'm not surprised there lol. They should've at least went after Day'ron Sharpe without using their premium assets. someone like that at worst.

                  Well **** the Hornets =)

At least the lakers didn't waste their assets on a messed up center. Still it feels shady from the hornets side.

They mentioned on the Sixers-Bucks broadcast, that Embiid feels he needs another surgery and long recovery to get his knee back to a good place. One, that's the direct opposite messaging the team has been giving all year. Two, if that's the case, then just shut him down and allow him to have surgery now and be fully healthy for next year. They are 20-31. Yes, they have a good chance at Play-in depending on how Chicago and ATL fares down the stretch. But, the best case scenario is what winning the play-in and losing Round 1 to the Cavs or Celtics. I rather just shut him down. The year is already a waste anyway. No point of delaying a surgery

You see the Mavs owner open his yap and you know the chatter is getting to him. You hate to see it.

At this point the best they're doing is 10th. Just give up and focus on next year. If he's out the entire 2nd half of the season but can be back to start next year, that's about 8 months of a recovery time. Let him do the surgery.

That's my stance. They just lost two games against teams without the best player embarrassingly while being as healthy as they been all year. Just shut him down and allow him to get surgery now, that way he'll be able to start getting in shape in the summer. Heck, most of the Sixers fans I see online has had that stance since the last knee swelling, a lot since for a while now. Originally, it was because fans wanted to keep their first round pick. But, that's a lost cause now. Embiid doesn't even have to get injured in game. He's another knee Swelling away from being out another a couple weeks.

Honestly I wouldn't be too opposed on moving on from Embiid. This whole not knowing if he'll play or not most of year and thinking they can just flip a switch in the playoffs, won't work. That's why I rather just him get the surgery now. But, I'm all for trading Paul George. He was the best of limited bad options last year. For Sixers fans, it was just be better than Tobias Harris. At this point, I'd rather have Harris for half the price. George is playing like a role player. I rather trade him and picks and find someone else

Like, it is just the smart play. Shut him down, get the surgery, start clean next year. Let's see if the Sixers screw this up.

Anything less than first round win, is a waste of not shutting him down. It feels like the outcome will either be Embiid having a serious injury or they face Hawks in the play-in. Either Trae will drop 40+ in a win or the Sixers win and lose in 5 games in the first round
