Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
Did you know the movie is described as being antisemitic?
Thats what almost all the media outlets are saying offering little beyond that. One source did go a little deeper and provided quotes from the book, and it looks like the extreme black "woke" alternate history stuff. We already knew he was a subscriber to that. To me this is a nonissue but there are certain things that are off limits, and this happens to be one of them.
That man can watch/read whatever the hell wants to.Comment

Don’t know enough about the Kyrie situation to comment on it but literally anything anybody does is anti something these days if you ask the interwebs.Comment

I'd imagine this is a separate instance from the one in Minnesota?
And if so...does this also mean Spurs covered up the first instance but eventually had to act when they realized it's a reoccurring thing?Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
That’s not at all what I’m saying which is why I specifically said I don’t know anything about the Kyrie situation.. I’m just speaking in general because the **** has gotten way overboard.
Your little “hurr durr” is exactly what I’m taking about in a sense. People on the internet assuming whatever the **** they want with no regards to what the other person actually meant. Just picking the most controversial avenue possible for no reason at all other than to make anything and everything look as offensive/negative as possible.
From what I see all Kyrie did was share a movie link. With no comment saying anything about what he does or doesn’t support/believe from the movie. Say I share a link or poster to the new movie “Till” to twitter. Does that give free reign for the world to label me as promoting racism because it’s in the movie? If not then hurr durr I guess I have a point.Comment

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
Kyrie is free to post and like whatever. However, whether Kyrie likes it or not, he is a brand. And posting a link on your social media will be seen as promoting it.
And when you post a link to a book/film that promotes the typical anti-Semitic nonsense from the Black Hebrew Israelites…expect pushback.

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
Nets are just going to have to grin and bear it. If the NBA wants to suspend him, good luck with that. Policing this type of stuff gets into a weird area. If you want to get inside Kyrie's head, and figure out what he actually thinks or believes, and punish him for it, good luck with that. If that's the future people want.Comment

Because you don’t know what’s going on, you should say nothing because your points make no sense. No you wouldn’t be called racist for posting Till, the same way Kyrie wouldn’t have been called anti-Semitic for posting Schindlers List.
Maybe the reason people assume his intent is because he’s leaned into this kind of rhetoric before. Maybe it’s because no one with any sense would post something they are against without comment. Maybe they took half a second more than you and looked into the situation, who’s to say? Either way, we do this song and dance every time a social issue comes up and you give your uninformed take. I shouldn’t have said anything or expected different, you do you.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it
