the buyout numbers, damn, Bison Dele was the most ever at $31M, and Dame gets bought out for $113M, goodness lol

So he's on the books for 5 years anyway, making the Myles deal basically $50M a year, yikes. I'm no capologist, but they're up to something, and if not, woof

edit: it's like they're saying "hey, Boston and Indiana are taking the year off, our stud is still good, the Knicks are doing god knows what, you should stay and we can compete next year maybe!" we'll worry about the rest later

Man these last 48 hours have pretty much been a miracle for the Bucks. To get Turner while also upgrading our limited assets to go out and get another piece is incredible.

In the event that Giannis actually does request a trade, nobody is going to care about that dead cap for the first few years of a rebuild anyways; so they maybe aren't able to take on other teams' bad contracts for assets, big deal. On the other hand, we were able to get a nice upgrade and perfect fit next to Giannis without really losing anything, and if anything, our future draft picks are even more valuable now because GMs will smell blood in the water with that dead cap so we should be able to make another move for a significant piece if we want to (or just add one more ball handler and roll with what we have and see how it works).

As it currently stands, the Bucks' hopes of a deep playoff run hangs on whether or not Kevin Porter can approximate the player that he was in the regular season for the Bucks (21/7/7 per 36 on 62% TS% with decent defense). It doesn't feel great to be depending on him, but it is what it is. If he can be a pretty good player (and of course assuming our core pieces stay relatively healthy), I think this team will be a top 5 seed which is simply much better than I think most fans expected heading into the offseason.

I do wonder what the Pacers will do at Center. They already didn't have good center depth and to lose Turner doesn't help. There really isn't any starting caliber Centers and some teams still need starting caliber Centers. At least, they did get back there 2026 first. With Haliburton out and Turner gone, could potentially be a top 20 pick.

That leaves Charlotte, Indy, Boston, GS as teams with Center needs. As a Sixers fan, we have an used Andre Drummond that we are willing to part with in exchange for a PF that can rebound, defend, and space the court lol

Boucher could suddenly become valuable for someone looking for a backup C, and obviously has playoff/championship "experience".

It's one reason I don't see why people criticized Raptors for keeping Poeltl. Look how easy it is for teams to have issues at certain positions. A guy like that hitting free agency in a weak big man market would've easily gotten well over 30m a year.

My bad, you were right about Ayton.

Depending on what happens with LeBron (& Reaves next off-season), I'm not too sure what LA's long-term plans are.

Obviously, use the massive money freed up from LeBron to sign a second star and retain Reaves. Still, it took Dallas a minute to find a group that worked around Luka and I don't think it'll magically get easier just cause he's in LA.

Malik Beasley now the latest player under investigation for gambling.

Pistons with their best season in a decade and Beasley being a borderline top 5 player on that team, that'll hurt them if he's gone. He's also a free agent so I doubt anyone even touches him even if he's found innocent.

Porter got banned from the league, if Beasley is guilty too, he's definitely gone.
                      Terry Rozier also under investigation.

If the league has 3 players banned for gambling, I don't get how you don't cut ties with gambling companies for any ads. That'll be players on 10% of your teams so far who have been caught, 20% of eastern conference teams if you want to get technical.
