If it was as simple as using his resources to help his son it might not be as big of a deal as it's been (by LeBron/megastar standards anyway) but simply "using his resources to help his son" would be Bron using his status in the league to get his son with UDFA talent level drafted in the second round who otherwise might not have considered using a pick on him. Helping him get a little extra change on his UDFA contract with some team right after the draft. What happened was LeBron helping himself get his dream of playing alongside his son and not have to take a paycut going to some other team and leave LA to do so.
Right, LBJ wanted to 'have his cake and eat it too' which is fine (cause LeBron has done that 1,000 times already).

The 'issue/problem' is him, the Lakers and major sports media (read: ESPN) acting like this wasn't all done so.

He wanted to still be a top earner (rightfully so), stay in LA and play with Bronny. During the pre-draft period they pretended like that wasn't the case and Bronny would/could go anywhere (without their objections), but apparently didn't allow him to workout with other teams.

Then on draft day - 2 they pulled the "he'll play overseas" card instead allowing someone else to possibly acquire him.

It's just another LBJ power move, but it looks a lot more disingenuous than the usual stuff.

Sir, You quoted me, loI. I didn’t really think the 55th pick in the draft warranted much debate at all. My original post was just agreeing with Woj’s take on it. Roll your eyes by all means. I’m just rolling my eyes at what I perceive as fake outrage about certain aspects of it all.

Ehhh you’d be right in literally any other year.

But we all know why it’s different this year. Unless you thought everyone would gloss over it like they’ve done any other time an NBA Player’s child got drafted but you’re too smart to believe that was gonna happen lol

If I took a “Why was Bronny getting drafted controversial” bet I would have said it was because it was in the first round or because JJ promised him rotation minutes.

but I guess that’s why I had to delete FanDuel from my phone.

I hope he exceeds expectations but my ceiling for him this year was victory cigar and G-League.

            Re: 2024 NBA Draft

I want to be clear that my reason for commenting on this (because I sorta brought it here) was based on Bronny as a prospect. I wasn’t speaking on Bron, Rich Paul, Lakers, etc. I was more so harping on all the grown *** men hating on a kid because they don’t like his dad in the name of “freshman stats” acting like those numbers reflect what he is and always will be as if players never improve past that or have potential to improve past that or this is the first time in NBA history any player has gotten drafted with a poor freshman showing.

Hell any other prospect and some of those same people would be praising him for working his way back from his heart issues and hoping the best for him. They did it with Shaq’s kid if you need an actual example. But that hasn’t been the case.

This has been going on for months, it’s not new, and all those takes were doubled-down on once he went 55th, but nobody ****ting on the kid would typically care who was drafted 55th. Just further clarifying their motive for why, and I think it’s lame as **** is all I was saying.

As for all the other stuff I just think what some of y’all want is just wildly un-realistic. Giannis isn’t going to come out and say tomorrow yeah I wanted my coach gone last year, I wouldn’t stay in Milwaukee without them getting my brother, I wanted my guy Jrue moved for Dame so they did it.. and nobody expects him to say that. But y’all want Bron to make some sort of public announcement that he got JJ hired and his son drafted? That doesn’t make any sense and is just one of the literal 10 thousand examples of people treating the situation different literally just because it’s him.

Nobody is looking for LeBron to make some public announcement, just quit acting like people are stupid and cappin' like he's just as surprised as we are when stuff happens that he knows he was pulling the strings on. All you gotta do is say 'I'm not gonna comment on xyz' and keep it moving. Obviously there'd still be those people that hate everything he does and criticize him for that too, but who cares about them.

This is fair, but I said what I said because it’s right here

Best bet would’ve been “Why is someone with *these type* of numbers getting talked up like this?” Lol
