Wow Bucks actually took the dude that averaged 2 points and 1 assist per game in Australia. Seeing The Athletic project him as our pick for #33 last night and then update it to our pick at #23 this morning felt like they definitely knew something and turns out, they did. Wild selection.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft
If I were player I wouldn't even want to be there unless I'm gonna be drafted top 5. Except in that scenario I would be 18 and probably trying to get as much social media clout as possible to monetize in case my career doesn't last.Comment

Re: 2024 NBA Draft
Ecstatic that Collier fell to us at 29. He has best player in the draft upside if everything works out, big fan of his game. Castle was my favorite prospect this year but Collier is #2, he was in a dumpster fire situation with USC and had a hand injury that kept him out
Think he could be a huge steal for us especially if he meshes well with Keyonte George in the backcourtTwitter: @TyroneisMaximus

Re: 2024 NBA Draft
My wayy too early and limited knowledge take on the draft..
Atlanta - In the limited "scouting" I was able to do on Risacher, and my lack of bring impressed by nay of the college kids (limited viewing admittedly) if I had the number 1 pick he would have also been my choice. I still feel like even with recent success of international guys you never know if you're getting Luka or Darko, but in this draft he seemed worth the chance to me, he seems so polished.. Odd fit but with the Hawks seemingly shopping everyone it doesn't matter.
Sarr - I just don't see it with him, but obvious upside. Washington wasn't really in a position to not draft the highest "potential' and that seems to be what they did here. I can't tell if the French dudes are truly hoopin right now or there is a bit of over-hype from Wemby at play.
Reed Sheppard - I think he's a very good player but I also feel like stick him in many of these past few drafts and he's a guy who MIGHT be a lottery pick. 3rd here doesn't seem bad but he doesn't feel like a top 5 pick caliber player. Perhaps he was viewed more so in the scope of "least likely to bust" or something.
Spurs - Castle was my favorite American prospect and I thought they hit a home run here. I didn't understand the trade with Minnesota as Dillingham was one of the 4-5 guys from this class that intrigued me. They didn't really move him for much value either.
Grizz - No idea how Edey translates to the league but I like them taking a shot here. They've been killing the draft lately and don't NEED anything other than a big. They severely missed Adam's inside presence, ball screens, rebounding, etc.. If Edey can fill that role he's a great grab. JJJ can't rebound for ****, and running him at the 5 full time creates the same issues Miami had with Bosh.
Utah - Killed the draft. Williams and Collier were another two of the few prospects I liked. Many believe Williams to be on par or even ahead of where his brother was at this point, if that's the player they get then this draft is a big win for them. Collier has a lot of talent and upside his college career just didn't go as hoped.
Ware - I think a decent value pick for the Heat at 15 but I don't see him as a fit/need for that team.
Lakers - Knecht dropped so good pick at 17 and fits the mold of experienced players they've eyed in the past few drafts and missed out on. Not sure if that makes Reaves a trade chip or not because Bron is only allowed to have one cold white boy on the squad lol. Of course getting a top 10 mocked, in some places top 5 mocked, player at 17 might also mean he's the trade chip too.
Draft coverage is ***, two days of this is so unnecessary. Not many intriguing guys on the board other than just waiting to see if a team takes Bronny.Comment

I'm somewhat disappointed the Spurs traded their 2nd first-round pick, especially with some solid PG prospects on the board still, but I also said that trading out (partially or fully) was on the table. They also might be higher on Blake Wesley and the legitimate strides he made as a lead guard this past season. He has the potential to be a plus defender and was very good as a decision maker.
I would've preferred a first-round pick much sooner in the Wembanyama Era from Minnesota. Having one later down the road could still help them acquire a solid star, so I won't just bemoan the move.
Gotta use the 2 2nd-round picks on some upperclassmen that can 'help now' with some shooting and more defense.
Why is this idiot Steven A. on our TV screens so much? And why can't the actual draft just start and not hear this annoying guy's voice?

Re: 2024 NBA Draft
This how little I watch ESPN these days. Where the hell is Jay Bilas? Why is Stephen A up there like he has any idea what the hell he’s talking about?

Poeltl, Olynyk and Boucher already there too, perhaps someone gets moved? Boucher is 31 with 1 year left and almost 11m in salary, don't see much reason to keep him.Comment

Spurs move their first 2nd - round pick. [emoji1][emoji1][emoji1]
Spurs and Pacers pretty much swapped places and Spurs get a PG prospect (I think). ESPN's coverage is pretty meh, IMO.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft
Bilas was there last night on ESPN. Looks like they brought Stephen A and Myers over from the ABC telecast for today. It's really sad how much they've marginalized Bilas and Jonathan Givony, the two guys that have actually watched these prospects play basketball, so that we can get more of Stephen A, who literally admitted last night he has no idea who any of these players are and has done nothing but read off some player and team stats. I get that Stephen A pulls audiences in for the day-time talk shows, but what kind of NBA nerd is tuning into Round 2 of the draft during work hours and doesn't want to learn anything about the players being taken? It's an embarrassing telecast.NFL: Bills
