Re: The OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread

I expect the Pistons to respond well in Game 6...only to bow out in 7, I never trust road teams in Game 7s, and the Pistons did nothing tonight to show I should trust them in a Game 7 on the road.

If Damon Jones, Udonis Haslem, and Rasual Butler can play like they did tonight consistently, no team would come close to beating the Heat, but I'm not thinking this will happen again.

Wow, it took a while, but I definitely just noticed during tonight's game that it's DWYANE Wade and not DWAYNE Wade

I figured they would lose tonight. I still say the Pistons in 7. It seems like the Pistons play better and always rise to the occassion when their the underdog and no one thinks they have a chance. Also, how bad is Wade? Will this affect him the rest of the series?

The players should hold out until they fire half of these jokers that take the game away from the players just so they get some attention. I hope Stern doesnt have to wonder why his ratings are down. I think he is smarter than that, then again maybe not.

I bet he sits to rest his back in Game 6 or has limited minutes. He'll be ready for Game 7 in Miami. I just don't see the Stones losing it at home. Should be a great Game 7.

Bad calls or not (and they were), Sheed let it take him out of HIS game and THE game. The Pistons need Sheed...he quit last night.

Quote from Rasheed: "We're going to win Game 6," Wallace said. "They want there to be a Game 7, there's no other series. If y'all can't see that, y'all crazy."

It is pretty obvious. I sincerely hope that Detroit doesn't get beneficial calls just to force a "neutral" game 7, that's just bush league.

there were some sketchy calls (I even remember Steve Kerr going to talk about a foul and then having to backtrack and say that was a tough one to call, etc), but the Pistons got beat last night, wasn't the refs fault...No excuses, the Heat just whooped them

Can we quit complaing about the calls? The Pistons lost because Rasheed got outplayed by Udonis Haslem people(what's up with that?)? Ben Wallace hasn't played with any level of consistency this series and instead of acting like champs they've whined and complained and fallen apart down the stretches of some games. They need to get their s*** together. This has been a real good series. Don't taint it by adding the bad officiating label when you're team falls apart. Did you hear me complain when Shaq, Mourning and Wade were getting a ton of fouls against them. No. Because the fact is they got outplayed in those two games just as the Pistons have been outplayed in the other three.

There is bad officiating, and its on both sides. I'm sorry, but the game has not gotten twice as physical as it was in the beginning of the series, when they only called 24 fouls in game 1. There are too many touch fouls, which slow the pace of the game, and disrupt the rhythm, and way too many bail out calls, because a player got himself in a bad situation. Bad officiating is bad officating, no matter who it benefits. I thought it was one of those unwritten rules where if an infraction is questionable, you swallow the whistle, but they seem to be calling all these borderline calls. Think of it in football, if they were to call EVERY hold that happened. You would have 20 penalties on both sides easy.

TNT just reported that Wade will "not be in the starting lineup".

No excuses. It doesn't matter if Wade comes off the bench or not, Detroit has NO EXCUSE tonight.
