This game was won by a few key stretches in the second quarter. McDyess was abusing Shaq by taking that jumper (uncontested). Van Gundy should have put Mourning in and rode him for the entire game. He was the reason why Miami was able to defend as Shaq was saving himself for offensive touches. Mourning was needed in the final 3 minutes as the Pistons continued to charge the paint. I dont know why Van Gundy wouldn't use his best lineup.

As an aside, watching the coverage making excuses for Miami as if Detroit was completely healthy was sickening.

One year down, cant wait to see how the fishing season treats the big fella.

The Spurs/Pistons will be a great series, the two champs going against each other, no excuses. Rip and Ginobili, Tayshaun's d vs. Bowen's d, Wallace's vs Duncan and Horry, and Parker vs. Chauncey. Awesome, I'm rooting for the west.

So you think Shaq missed 7 shots and none were because of Ben Wallace?

Yeah holding him to 12/19 is great D. I bet out of those 7 shots Wallace altered 3 at best.

Well, I guess I wont be able to see Shaq with another ring to stick it to the Lakers immediately, but hopefully it comes along soon.

Spurs/Pistons should be a fun, albeit gritty matchup. I cant wait to see Tayshaun guard Ginobili. I wanna see Tayshaun toss Ginobili's *** to the floor when he pulls that flopping garbage. Sheed and Timmy should be a great matchup as well. I'm just not really looking forward to 77-71 games, great basketball but very boring at times.

Whatever it is, I really hope the Pistons kick the Spurs' ***.

Nobody ever said he played great D, because he didnt. But he put up a fight, and you said he didnt.

BTW, Ben did a really good job guarding Shaq last year in the Finals too with hardly any double teams.

I don't see where he put up a fight. He looked helpless to me. Shaq had a pretty good series last year if I remember correct. If you want to overrate Wallace, be my guest.

I think Ben is the best help defender in the league, and a very good post defender. I'm not taking any points away from him for not being able to hold Shaq

But see here's the problem with saying he's overrated. WHO EVER SAID BEN WALLACE WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO GUARD SHAQ? Has this really ever been said? I don't see how you are overrated when it is known you can't guard one player because he has a massive size advantage, and that's exactly what happens.

I think what BK is saying is that. If Ben is the DPOY like all the writers say he is, then prove it and at least contain Shaq.

Again my opinion. But in a game like tonight, Wallace was a complete non-factor. All I ever read about is how great he is. I have yet to see the greatness. It's easy to look great at that size when you play in the East I guess.

I never said he wasn't good, I just don't get the hype that surrounds him.
