Re: The OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread
The Pistons win means that the lack of parity in the NBA will continue, with only 5 champs from 1986 to 2005
Bulls (6)
Lakers (5)
Pistons (3, going for 4)
Sputs (2, going for 3)
Rockets (2)Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Originally posted by RahKhemHell of a game, Pistons had the stones to get to the championship, simple as that. Oh yeah, and BK saying Ben Wallace is overrated, give me a better 6-9 240 pound guy who can guard Shaq. In game 6 he actually blocked 2 of his shots, one on one, straight up. Give me another one, and I'll say Ben Wallace is overrated.Comment

Re: The OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread
I was hoping for a better outcome. Detroit is just a better team. They took control down the stretch and proved why they won the title last year. I've also changed my outlook on how the Finals are going to shape out against San Antonio. I originally posted that it would be boring and too drawn out but the NBA playoffs still manage to be exciting even in the lower scoring games. With both teams so evenly matched at every position I would not be surprised to see the Finals go to game 7 as well. Overall, it was a good, tough series and I am in no way going to dog the Pistons' accomplishment tonight. They earned it.Last edited by jakobslad; 06-06-2005, 10:04 PM.Top Five Favorite Bands

Re: The OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread
Thing is that a lot of them calls weren't called when Shaq had that ball down there. Then again, I'd like to watch them go at it too. Ben is decent but his defense is only increased because of the types of players around him. Was a nobody when he was wherever he was before. The Pistons are similar to the Spurs where it's a good system that was made. Only reason he's nice enough to be considered that defensive player of hte year....Comment

Re: The OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread
Also, SVG got outcoached in the end badly. The guy couldnt see MIA needed D and allowed a smaller lineup to continually fight against mismatches.
Rasual Eddie and Damon all combined for a whoping 4-11... that's a wasted effort because Shaq was huge for them.Comment

Re: The OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread
Heat lost all because of Damon Jones. Hes an idiot. Instead of giving it up to Shaq, he tries to fake out Billups and then gets caught up in the air, which then he tries to pass it to Wade, but instead turns it over to Prince.
Which then leads to a fastbreak for an easy 2, that tied the game. idiot!Comment

Re: The OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread
Originally posted by RahKhemShaq is unguardable. Period. Nobody can guard him. Name one player right now that can guard Shaq. And you can't, because nobody can. Wallace did as good of a job as anybody has done. I really can't believe you are serious saying Ben Wallace is overrated because he can't guard the most dominant player to ever play the game. I mean this really ridiculous.
Overrated...Comment

Ben's man on man D isn't the greatest in the NBA. In terms of team defense though, he has no equal.Comment
