    Re: 2005-2006 knicks thread

Loved the way the young guns played and again free throws hurt us again. Crawford and Q-Rich have both been awful, how many wide open 3's will Q miss? You have to figure both of them will turn it around and Marbury will start making his freethrows and all will be fine.

I honestly don't want to see Malik anymore AD is fine but Malik should not be playing at all, with Lee and Frye getting good minutes.

And is there any doubt Jerome James is the worst free agent signing who knows if he can even play as he fouls the person nearest to him the second he steps on the floor and then is right back on the bench. That said I think they will be able to get a few wins on this west coast trip.

      Two things I noticed today:

      1. After Dec. 9 we are done going west for the rest of the year. (Midwest trip in Feb. is the farthest from home).

      2. I really don't think Jamal Crawford is going to see much time this year in Brown's system. I think he's done.

        Crawford’s Show Hits Pine Time

Mitch Lawrence of the NEW YORK DAILY News writes, “Yesterday, as the Knicks added another "L" to Larry Brown's resume, falling 83-81 to Golden State, Brown decided in the late stages he would be better off with rookie Nate Robinson than Jamal Crawford. That was a slap in Crawford's face. But he's not going to be the first or last Knick to get smacked by Brown. A lot of 'em, including Stephon Marbury, have it coming. Because for too long around here they've been playing the way they want to play, not the way they need to play.”

I'd welcome a trade for Crawford out of NYC. I've seen And 1 players with better shot selection.

            Isiah looking for a PG?

I've already said to get rid of Malik, I think it would be great to get a PG like Watson. He's not playing at all after signing in Denver and he would probably be a good fit here. With Nene out Denver could use another PF. I wouldn't want Boykins though, we don't need another midget in the back court. Andre Miller is good too, but I doubt Denver would trade him. Mo Taylor or Malik Rose for Earl Watson sounds good too me. My only question is can Denver even trade Watson yet since they just signed him?

Correct. We have a collection of semi-talented players.

The Knicks look like me when I'm playing NBA 2k6. They have no plan coming down the floor. They just dribble and pass around until someone finds a hole in the D and tries to take a shot after the D rushes back to them.

On defense, they have no clue how to stay with their man and they cant rebound.

Other than that... we're a fantastic team.

I dont' think it smells like a trade looming.

What it does look like is that Mitch Lawrence understands Larry Brown.

The reason why the Knicks are the way they are is because most of the better players on the team have their own way of doing things.

Larry Brown is the type of coach that isn't afraid to sit his entire starting lineup for a bunch of rookies to teach guys a lesson about playing hard and right.

Remember, Brown's strongest comments during his press interview stated that he was going to teach the right way to play basketball in NY.

Right now, Crawford isn't playing under Brown's rules and therefore he'll sit down. Barnes started because he played hard and surprisingly enough, isn't that bad of a defender. Ariza would get more minutes if he paid more attention to his man rather than someone elses on defense.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

I think the knicks have played pretty decent defense...but have looked like garbage on the offensive end. They look tentative, like they are thinking too much. I actually think they are scared of Larry Brown. I think they are scared to mess up. No way should this team be playing this poorly. They are obviously not a championship team, but they are also not as bad as they have been playing...

Mo Taylor should be in the starting lineup.

I think the only one really scared of Brown is Crawford. I think Marbury is thinking too much but he has loosened up a bit.

Was there ever any doubt? Probably our best effort of the season but another loss. Crawford and Marbury really played a good game and Q proved to be semi-useful.

Malik Rose is killing me though, he shouldn't be playing at all. Larry insists on bringing him in at the last minute of the game and taking out one of our best offensive options. If not for Malik I think we win this game. To add something to this on Larry Brown's press conference he seemed very annoyed that Malik missed a wide open 8 footer, my guess Malik won't be playing anymore.
