Vince is flat out an egotist. Case and point(s):

    The whole Jorge wearing #15
    and now the MVP thing.

I honestly think he belives that he was going to be hated at first but rememberd as the greatest thing that happened to the Raptors.

<-- this about sums up what Toronto thinks about you Vince

BTW, I know he doesn't read this stufff but I think its pretty apt.

What a crushing defeat tonight and the refs did everything they could to give the Raptors this game down the stretch.

        "sigh"

The last 3 possessions were just horrible.

Unfortunately, their biggest weaknesses got exposed again. Has happened in a few games with top teams down the stretch (Dallas, Phoenix, Detroit games).

The weakness x 2....Rebounding. Obviously, the 30th best rebounding team in the league is going to get exposed near the end of games on the defensive glass. You just hope it doesn't lose the game for you like it did tonight. A lot of jumping around with not much boxing out.

Secondly- poor decision making at the offensive end. Sure, defenses are tightened up down the stretch, but TJ is still very young and lacks the end of game smarts that good teams need. Obviously because I live in an ideal world where feelings/contracts don't count, I'd choose to put Jose in at the end of every game. That's just me though.

Especially the play where TJ just dribbled the ball pretty much the whole possesion....

            Ugh...what a deflating loss...

The putback by Vajergo (sp) was sick...

I guess we will hopefully get to our first look at Juan Dixon in a Raps uni this weekend.

Personally I think he will get some PT this weekend, seeing as were in a back to back

anyone have a prediction of how he will do?

It seemed to me that the Freddie Jones experiment was a bust. Other then injury I think we now know why he didn't get on the court. The guy just struggled too much. Apparently Colangelo seems to have high hopes for Dixon and in an upgrade over Jones, Dixon can play both gaurd positions. I think he'll have some playing time and contribute to the team.

Calderon with 9 assists (he could have had a few more) in the second quarter alone...incredible.

If you think back to the summer, when the Raps almost got John Salmons, they wanted a combo guard, but settled for Fred Jones.

Now with Juan Dixon, they got the type of player they really wanted all along with a slight upgrade (IMO) from Salmons.

Dixon has that big of an upside to him? I don't know much about the guy since he played out west.

                        Salmons is better than Dixon.

Salmons can be a potential triple double threat.

BTW, 25 assists and we're still in the third...

Im not really talking about upside or down the road gain from Dixon. Im just talking about a guard that can play the 1 or 2 spot and come off the bench with some scoring pop.

Him and Salmons are almost the same age, so I dont know about who has the bigger upside there. And if it is Salmons I don't think its by much.

                          But I could be wrong.

I'm preaching to the choir here but for those that poo-poo the Raptors success take a gander at thsi:

Since the 2-8 start the Raptors are 28-17. Yeah I know it's in the East and in the Titanic Division but that's decent numbers no matter what division you play in.

For those that want to know, we didn't pass up on Salmons. He passed up on us. As far as the Dixon trade, we're swapping comparable talent for a better contract. Hopefully, though, this parks Derrick Martin's *** where it belongs for good: on the bench, whether TJ's injured or not. At least Dixon can play a little of the 1, better than anything Martin can do at that spot.

Let Martin stay on the bench as a "fifth coach" and make him feel like he's contributing in a big way. Once he's on the court, it seems like it's more of a case of "do as I say, not as I do". Milt Palacio, chapter II.
