HUH, on the strenght of one good stretch?!

I love the fact that Mo loves Toronto, but hes 30 and gonna demamd more than a 2 year deal.

Plus by this time next year Andrea and Joey should be taking up most of the time.

To say we should re-sign Mo is very Babcot-ish

The officiating in today's game has been absolutely horrible.

It wasn't just the officiating against the Raptors but also against the Pistons but most of it was just plain bad calls on the Raps. I hate it when a game turns on the questionable calls of the officials.

OTOH this was a very exciting game. It had a great playoff atmosphere to it and you could tell the Raptors were really into it emotionally. The only complaint i have is that the team didn't attack the basket very much and Bosh was nonexistent for most of the game. That's partly due to what Detroit did defensively but Bosh looked pretty tired as well because he didn't really look to attack the rim.

What bad calls, exactly? The refs didn't lose the game for Toronto...

I don't think anyone is saying the refs lost the game for Toronto but I think there was a lot of frustration which led to losing focus.

2 calls come to mind for me and i'm sure others will chime with more

            1. One Raptors possession Bargnani was clearly pushed behind the back which should've resulted in a foul

            2. The possession where Ford lost the ball and was going for it and the refs called it a push off.

Yeah, it looked like Bosh had some tired legs. Just no explosiveness whatsoever.

In the end, it's the second chance points that killed them. There's just no way you can give good teams that many follow ups.

Regarding Rasheed- There's NO way the refs shouldn't have thrown him out the way he was going on. It's embarrassing to watch and really looks bad on the NBA. One tech was not enough IMO. Besides, he was playing amazing! lol

Fair enough, I thought the call on Ford was a little bogus too. But the offensive foul on Sheed that led to his tech was lame too. But aside from that I thought the officiating was fine, no huge differences in fouls called or free throws taken. I think the difference was Bosh not being as aggressive, and the Raptors having no answer for Rasheed.

i didn't say they lost the game for Toronto....i thought the game was poorly called on both ends...

They were all over the place.....calling things that shouldn't have been called...then not calling things that should have been....

all in all pretty entertaining game, nice to know the raps could keep up with the pistons on a second end of the back to back.

The same thing that was mentioned somewhere earlier in this thread came true once again...the Raps are hopeless against teams with a strong low-post presence on both ends of the floor. I think that this will ultimately hurt their chances of getting into the playoffs as the rest of the sked looks tough. I can't count how many times I saw Bosh trying to get a defensive rebound against more than one Piston.

On a side note: why did Mitchell take Joey out and not put him back in the game? I'm a Garbo fan, but he's been terribly inconsistent recently on the offensive side and against Detroit was practically useless on the defensive end. He in no way matches up well against Prince and was nowhere to be found on the boards. All Joey did was come in, play solid D and with lots of energy and rebounding presence and threw down a team-lifting dunk. Moments after that, Mitchell sat him for the rest of the game. Wtf?

Well we're a couple hours away from the biggest game of the year. Yes you read that right. I think the Raptors have made great improvements so far this year but to me what will really prove that they're not the same old Raptors is if they can beat the Bulls.

It seems that the Raps just can't beat these guys. I want to see them actually win a game against them. I know it would be a huge confidence booster.

Close game today. It shouldn't have been this hard but we completely collapsed with less than 2 mins left...

We really need to learn how to close out games.

ALMOST stole defeat from the jaws of victory. I'm just waiting for the inevitable bitching about the foul call at the end of the game from Bulls fans. Should be fun.

Fun to watch this team grow the way it has right before our very eyes. Seems like every player that plays significant minutes is getting better game to game (Garbo's tired, there I made an excuse for him lol).

Whatever, BG pushed off on Ford on the prevoius (3point) play so the Bulls could take the lead. That's the NBA for you and TJ did hit Ben after the shot left his hands.... AFTER the shot

                                -----------

Also do you guys think that Sam Mitchell should go to a playbook clinic or something??

Is it just me, or is everytime the Raps get into a 4th Q the teams sets are terrible. They blew that lead lastnight, to only get bailed out by Bosh making an incredible rebound.

If you don't belive me just watch tonight when the Raptors run there sets. 90% it's a high ball screen and everyone else stands around and waits for the D to shift. It's working at times, but down the stretch they rely on the natural skill of the tallent instead of putting the tallent into situations to thrive.

I love the way the team pushes the ball, and Sam's got them playing great ball, but the team is just so stagnet down the stretch, relying on the long 3 or a Bosh Iso with the D set to double.
