I just wish the damn games wouldn't be on stupid Raptors TV. I mean the Raptors should get better numbers then the stupid AHL Marlies/Bulldogs game.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Raptors TV isn't bad and it has some good mid-week NCAA games, but yeah why are there 24 games on RTV this year? Wouldn't the Raps benefit from having the majority of their games televised nationally in Canada? Really cement the presence of the team across Canada and raise the profile in this country of the only NBA team? Hell, maybe CTV should show some games on nights like Friday when they have crap on like the Liberal Convention followed by close to home.Comment

3 straight wins without Bosh and Mitchell has been coaching preety good.
AB had a great game today with 18 pts, 10 boards and 6 blocks.
I can only hope Jose will be okay. They're were several shots of Jorge teared up because of his fallen best friend.Comment

I did not expect Bargnani to be contributing as much as he is this early. He has been outstanding for a rookie at his position. Today he was really making some great plays on tipping rebounds in the offensive zone back to his teammates. The whole team looks to be really rounding into form. I'm excited about the play recently of Colangelo's offseason acquisitions.Comment

Like i said in the raptors/blazers thread, that was a top 5 win ever for our franchise.
part of me doesn't want bosh to come back anytime soon.
the team was playing bad when we made him the 1st-2nd and 3rd options on the floor.
with him out, we're moving the ball, penetrating and kicking and we're taking what the opposing d gives, not trying to force it into bosh because he's our go-to guy.
andrea is gonna be special.Comment

I agree that Bargniani is going to be a special player.Comment

Vince:
Part of me agrees with you about not wanting Bosh to come back, but part of me disagrees. Without Bosh we're absolutely getting killed on the glass. Our past 5 games (rebounds):
46 Port - 33 Tor
44 LAC - 36 Tor
43 Phx - 45 Tor
50 GSW - 38 Tor
45 NJ - 45 Tor
I think a healthy Bosh will definitely help on the boards. We need to find a way to get him involved in the offense, but not necessarily be the entire focal point of our offense.
Just to keep it going... I think Andrea will be special as well.Comment

With Bosh, we still usually get out-rebounded as well. But don't get me wrong. I want him back ASAP. This is one of those examples of a team being able to overcome an injury to their star player by playing well. But don't kid yourselves...it's not sustainable. They need Bosh, and in the end this injury will be a blessing in disguise, because Mitchell was given an opportunity to better evaluate his team.Comment

Re: ***Basketball Club of Toronto: 2006-2007 thread***
I think we need Bosh back. This situation is similar to the Knicks in that it has taken the loss of a star player (or in the Knicks case a few players) and allowing the guys that usually don't get much love to actually prove themselves. Mitchell would be a fool not to have these guys contribute in a major way when Bosh is back.
Also with Bosh back you can do a lot of "inside/outside" type of stuff with Bosh and Ford. Ford will get a lot of coverage from the opponents and he can pass it off to other perimeter guys or just dish it to Bosh on the inside for easy points. On the flip side Bosh can generate a lot of attention when he has the ball in the paint and if needed can kick it out to Ford or Bargnani etc etc to shoot the rock from the perimeter.
The only downside to this good stuff? Virtually no one is seeing these games because they're stuck in the nowhere land that is Raptors NBA TV.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
