Gotta love that Isiah calls a time out to setup last second plays at the end of the 4th and OT. What were they? One on one with Crawford. Was a timeout really needed?

If this happened last year, Larry Brown beats them down for losing the 19 point lead and inserts Butler and Woods and the Knicks dont even get into OT...they lose.
Knicks are 1-0....friggin rejoice for crying out loud.

Alot of praise for Rudy Gay.
However, he was nondescript when Balkman was bodying him. Couldn't get anything vs. Balkman.
Balkman's going to be a problem around the league.
Wait til Jeffries gets back.Comment

I almost died of a heart attack when Curry had double-digit boards in the first half against Memphis (or maybe it was only 9?)."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 2006-2007 New York Knicks: Explosion or Implosion
I always said Curry will never be a 15/8 guy in the league, but if the Knicks run more and score more points then I guess it is possible. Also, if Curry can actually stay on the court for 35-40 minutes then it's very possible.
Not happy about blowing the lead - typical Knicks. But, like mostly everyone else has said, they won. A win is a win. It would have been very typical of the Knicks to blow the lead and lose the game. They fought the entire 4th and overtime.
I also like what Isiah said (always the positive). "It wasn't anything we did wrong. It was everything they did right."
That's a very nice message to send your team. They played well. The Grizzlies played better in the fourth. It happens. Important thing is, they won.
Last thing...Crawford is going to give me a migraine and a heart attack. Seriously. The kid is erratic beyond belief. I would blame Thomas for calling Crawford's numbers, but I doubt he told Crawford to take two terrible shots in both instances. Crawford needs to learn how to DRIVE with the seconds dying down. He didn't even drive for layups during play. He kept coming up to the basket and pulling up for a leaner that he continued to miss over and over again. Kid is killing me."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: 2006-2007 New York Knicks: Explosion or Implosion
I'm thinking Frye's extra bulk is messing with his jumpshot. He was very solid from the top of the key last season. Everything now is hard off the back of the rim. The Knicks need him to hit that shot.
Marbury is being passive again. I don't understand why he's holding himself back. Unless he just wants everyone else to get comfortable first. I don't know.
Crawford is still killing me."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. He can't even hold onto the ball now. He must have dropped like 4 passes against the Hawks. I don't know if it has to do with the new ball, but he needs to fix that too.Yankees

I don't know what's up with Crawford. I thought he really improved last year, but now it's like he's back to his old ways.

The Pacers are shooting lights out so far tonight.
Knicks just cut it to four. Curry has been impressive early in the season. The other starters, not as much.
Nate Robinson and David Lee have also been impressive. Robinson brings a spark, much like Earl Boynkins on the Nugs, and it's nice to see David Lee transition well from the Gators to the NBA game.Last edited by Jimplication; 11-04-2006, 10:23 PM.Enjoy football? Enjoy Goal Line Blitz!Comment

Marbury is basically non-existent, except for when he does something silly. For instance, he just kicked the ball out of frustration and got T'd up.
Robinsion, Curry, Lee, and to an extent, Steve Francis, are playing well. Francis is racking up assists and getting calls his way, and just now he made a nice lay-up with some strong English on it.

Knicks lose to the Pacers, 95 - 109.
As I said above, a few players looked good, the starters didn't. I am especially curious why Kelvin Cato was signed. He played limited minutes tonight and looked terrible the entire time. He fumbled the ball repeatedly, and in general, was a waste of space.
As stated previously in this thread, the rebounding is seriously lacking.
I'm excited about the team and Isaiah as coach is intriguing to me. I don't think the team will suck, as they are doing things well. Specifically, Marbury has not impressed me and Crawford is heaving up way too many shots. I understand he is an offensive threat, but that shouldn't mean he can take bad shots at will.
Tonight's game was not a good game, but I think the first two were enjoyable, and a better representation of what the team is capable of.Enjoy football? Enjoy Goal Line Blitz!Comment
