We need a defender and rebounder.
    Yeah...but not at that price.

You don't make that kind of a long-term committment to non All-Star player.

That's why we've been in cap hell since Ewing left.

I'm having a bad feeling about this off-season. I think the major players will stay with their teams(with Bosh joining Wade in Miami). LeBron will resign with the Cavs for two or three years, then head to Brooklyn. This is a critical time for the Knicks. Walsh better have Plan B or C ready, or it'll be another ten years of frustration.

I think it is hilarious that I looked up how our pick wound up with utah and somehow it started with a Gugliotta trade in 2003.

I have mixed feelings on the draft. I like Rautins, think he can be a good bench player in the league.

Fields is interesting since we passed on several big men. I think this means Chandler & Curry's expiring is going to be the package the Knicks are shopping this summer and Fields is Chandler's potential replacement.

Before I would disagree with you saying that they wouldn't try to ship Chandler out.

But after being recently busted for weed, he's no longer untouchable.

I liked what I saw (youtube highlights) of Fields. Basically, a much stronger scoring Chandler. He can fill it up. I don't remember Chandler being that good in college.

But I question the competition Fields played against. Looked like wet tissue.

Either way, FA is not looking so good anymore.

I think Ernie Grunfeld was trying to stick it to the Knicks by taking Hinrich. I mean seriously. There was NO FREAKING NEED to make that kind of move.

Personally I always felt that Knicks fans really overrate/overvalue Chandler. I like him, but he's nothing special IMO.

He has the potential to be a very good player, but he has really bad habits that will always make him just an average scorer in the league.

If someone can teach him to stop spinning around in the lane, then that person will have unlocked the key. I don't see it happening because no one could get Rasheed Wallace to stop taking three pointers.

I agree. To me, his ceiling seems pretty low. He seems like a guy that would be a quality player on a playoff team just playing defense and making open shots, best off as a third or fourth option. Won't pain me to see him go.

                      Yes on all of this.

I still feel a bit of a connection to him. For some reason, if Chandler goes, I'll be a bit hurt by it as a fan. The last guy I cared for in that way was Ariza. *Note I'm only mentioning those guys that aren't clearly good players but somehow seem like they should be and just can't put it together*

He's a nice, useful player, but he doesn't do anything that would be all that difficult to replace. I wouldn't hesitate to include him in a deal to bring in a center and/or point guard.
