Gallo can't man up to save his life. Gallo is a horrible defender.

I wouldn't say he's horrible, but he's not amazing either. Now there is lots of horrible D on this team including Al, Lee, and T-Mac. That's why I don't think Gallo is really terrible compared to them.

Trust me...in every 4th quarter of a close Knicks game...I'm sure D'Antoni is screaming at them during timeouts to get a stop, shore up their defense, etc., etc.
Yea that's the problem. Every 4th quarter of a close Knicks game. I'm sure as hell he doesn't scream at them to get a stop the previous 3 or in practice either. You can tell just by watching the team defense. Piss pour rotations, little help defense, zero ball denial, very little pressure on the ball handler, etc.

And Gallo's not near as bad as he was when the season started. I was thinking about our defenders a couple days ago and a question came to me...Who on our team knows how to draw a charge? The only players I've seen draw charges are Al Harrington, Jared Jeffries (gone), Chris Duhon, and Danilo Gallinari. Nobody else. Actually I think I saw Sergio draw one once, but that's about it. I feel like Gallo actually puts forth effort on D, despite the fact he isn't very quick and lacks some fundamentals. The rest of the team doesn't really give a crap.

            3 or 4straight DNP?

but who else has a feeling D will say in a few days, hes back in the lineup and that he just wanted to try a different look? lol

Nope, and how many rings did those Phoenix teams win?

              (from the NY Daily News):
"I'm not a fan of those old Sacramento, old Dallas and old Phoenix teams," said Cavs coach Mike Brown. "The success of that formula in the playoffs is not very high."

Yes, Brown was taking a shot at D'Antoni ball.

(from one of the News posters):
What an embarassment. House got beat off the dribble twice, and Lee just stood there and watched. Please don't resign this guy. He plays defense for about 2 minutes a game. I don't care how many points this guy puts up....defense wins games. Yes, the Knicks are undersized and Lee plays out of position....but where is the effort? Oakley couldn't jump, Barkley was an undersized power forward, Moses Malone was not a tall center....the list goes on....these guys got it done, so enough with the excuses. Harrington would rather chuck 3's than defend. If Dantoni is such a great offensive coach, why does he allow players to shoot at their first touch. These guys hardly pass the ball. How about spreading the floor and making the opponent work a bit. At some point the coaching staff has to take responsibilty for the one on one offensive and total lack of defense.

Sometimes you just shoot over 50% from 3's and manage to win a game. Call me crazy, but I can't find satisfaction in Knicks wins anymore

Cuz they don't mean anything now. Especially against a team that only has 20 wins. Back in the day, we still had a fighting chance to make the playoffs. Now? heh.

Glad to see Bill Walker skying tonight. Back to back career highs in 2 starts. As well as TMac starting at the 1.

                        You're not crazy. D'Antoni-ball sucks.

And Walsh is full of s***. The coach does share some of the blame for this mess.

I love how Brain-Dead Dolan is upset. Hey, dumb***, you put the Knicks in this situation, letting Scott Layden & Isiah run this franchise into the ground for eight years. You expect Walsh to turn this around overnight? What a tool!

do u think tho that maybe donnie is just trying to keep things from getting alll media crazy?

hes smart, he knows what D has to work with, and if hes getting the most out of them or not and if he thinks he will do better with players D chooses himself.

i dont know, i am rambling, i'd discuss this much better in person.

lol we need to all meet up at MSG for the draft next year!

eco, I know this team lacks talent and is undersized, but give me SOME effort on defense. At least try.

I was listening to Bill Daughtry last night after the game. He talked to some of the Knicks assistants about the team's lack of defense. They told him they don't even bother coaching it. WTF???

jeff i agree 1000% on the Defense thing.
I come from old school, Hibie Brown, Pat Riley, Van Gundy and i was used to seeing hard nosed D, ok not so much with Hubie, but yea.

I think they r thinking recent Celtics, just get a few stars and win a title with basic run of the mill D.

Donnie brought D'antoni here because he was good with players?
if i remember correctly, but he's failed in that department.
He gives out free pases to his dog house weekly.

Whether you think D'Antoni has done a good job or not, the bottom line is this team doesn't have the players to win, so Walsh is right in defending him. D'Antoni was brought here to win starting next year. You aren't going to play much defense when you have a team full of soon to be free agents that are just looking to put up numbers and get a contract.
