You should see the prosportsdaily Knicks forum. It's downright hilarious. People are calling for David Lee to get traded off the team because he doesn't play defense.

By that logic, they should be arguing for the whole team to get thrown out and scrapped, since nobody on this team plays any damn defense.....

And we have a coach who wouldn't know defense if it bit him in the ***. If the Knicks get good again, they're not going far with D'Antoni.

I was thinking about that recently. D'Antoni has far from proved himself to be a good coach for the Knicks. At best I could see him making us a Suns type team (depending on the players we get), but that never worked out past the regular season for them.

Although I have to be honest, having anything past the regular season at this point would make me overjoyed

That's not good enough for me - I'd rather be like the Spurs or even the 90s Knicks, who fought you tooth & nail, and played the kind of hard-nosed defense real fans love. What's going on now at the Garden is a disgrace.

To be fair to D'Antoni, he hasn't been blessed with much to work with. Just a bunch of overpaid scrubs who know that they won't be back next year. Tough to motivate them to play D.

But I know Mike isn't a defensive coach anyway and I'm kinda scared of how that will go over with the new guys next year.

And fwiw I was for trading David Lee too. I don't think we're gonna bring him back next year anyway and he doesn't play defense or boxout. He's been playing All-Star quality (offensive) basketball all year so his trade value is probably the highest it will ever be. Might as well get something in return, some young assets or draft picks or something.

Coach D, will be graded heavily next year.
He was brought here for 2010, he WILL have some players, he has to win.

I wouldnt mind Lee going byy, depending on whos coming in.
Lee doesnt make the team better.
He gets huge Rebounding numbers and its sick how much he shoots now compared to past years.
Anyone remember the D-lee of years past shooting 4 times a game?
i do.
we won 23 to 32 games each of those years
now he shoots 20 a game!
lol

thing is, we still have 19 wins.
we can do that with someone else playing his position.
Some players come to a team and their big numbers help them win.

He seems to be stat stuffing.
I like him, but.
Just sayin.
