Re: NYK 10: The Crossover
Yup, all in. Even though I think there's a .0001% chance LeBron comes to NY we at least have to put ourselves into position to get him."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: NYK 10: The Crossover
To hell with Lebron, no offense to him or anyone who wants him. Lebron hasn't proven that he's going to dominate championships the way Jordan did. There is much more comparable talent in the league now than there was back then. We just need to put a great team together. If that means Lebron, then great, but there are other moves that can put us into title contention for several years.
This isn't a gamble. Getting rid of Jared Jeffries, Larry Hughes and Jordan Hill isn't a risk of any kind, lol. No matter what path we take back to respectability, the first step was always cap flexibility.Comment

Re: NYK 10: The Crossover
The gamble is with the draft picks. Granted Donnie assumes that with all the cap space we'll be a playoff team next year but you never know. If we somehow suck we'll miss out on three lottery picks over the next three years (Utah and then two to Houston). That's definitely a gamble, though I'm not complaining at all. Cap space is the key to everything as you said.
I'm excited but also worried, I think this summer's FA class is gonna be a gigantic bust. I don't see LeBron going anywhere, I don't think Amare will opt out though I think Wade will leave Miami. Given the cap next year, if Amare opts out and gets a max deal can he earn more than the $17m he's due next year?
I don't know enough about Joe Johnson and ATL's situation. I'm sure he wants a max deal but does ATL have the space or desire to give him that deal? Seems like all the "realistic" talking heads in the NY media believe Johnson will be a Knick next year. Same with Steve Blake.
Bosh is obviously leaving Toronto but I don't see him coming to NY. He seems like a laid back dude and certainly isn't an attention whore like LBJ or D-Wade, I think the "wow" factor of NYC won't have much affect on Bosh. I also think we need DWade or LBJ to get Bosh, I don't think a Joe Johnson or Rudy Gay & Bosh signing will happen.
I don't know, I'm far from believing we're a lock to be a playoff team next year.
Absolute best case (I can't even consider LBJ leaving CLE): Wade & Bosh + Blake
Second best: Johnson & Amare + Blake
After that I'm afraid to even think about the possibilities."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

And while the move needed to be made, it is somewhat of a risk, because we won't be able to get an impact player in the draft for the next 3 years, so whether it's this offseason or after, at some point we are going to 2 star players in free agency.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: NYK 10: The Crossover
I have been texting my buddy who is out of town at the moment and told him just that. It looks like an entirely different team. The ball movement has been awesome to watch. If Rodriguez isn't starting for this team sometime very soon something is wrong.PSN: DoubleLGetsBusy

Re: NYK 10: The Crossover
There is way more life in the team too, Sergio and House bring some fire and hustle to the team. Hopefully McGrady can provide some leadership.
The creating plays and passing is so nice to see too, Rodriguez is a heckuva passer. His handle is shaky as hell though."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: NYK 10: The Crossover
I agree with everyone, watching T-Mac has been outstanding to me.(I watch every Knick game so thats why im so amazed tonight lol)
Sergio is passing the ball beautifully Duhon needs to be a back ups back up.
Al Harrington is having getting easy looks and missing them... what is he now 2 for 8 starting the 4th? Jesus what is he still on the court!!
I havent been this excited during a Knick game for a while...
Speak of the devil... he just missed an easy inside shot... Sergio should stop passing to him lolComment
