Put the solid shooting aside. They are also the best defensive team through 12 games as well. Leading the 2nd closest defensive team by giving up 4+ points less. So, offense can still be off sometimes but the defense will be there.

That's why I say they are better than Cleveland & Washington. They will continue to be as well as long as nobody else gets injured. I see a #1 Eastern Conference seed in the future as long as things stay the way they are now.

Yeah the defense is legit. maybe not #1 good for a full season but it's really good.

Horford and Tatum's percentages will come down but they are still good shooters so I don't think it will come back to earth drastically. Horford has continued his play he showed in the playoffs. Brown is the one that will probably regress but he's improving on that end so who knows.

who the favorites are right now is really irrelevant it's a long season lol.

Yes, right now the favorites are irrelevant. However, people like Billups, Jalen Rose, & a few others are even saying early on that the Celtics are the favorites in the Eastern Conference.

Thought we had singed Theis to a 1-year deal over the offseason. Last night Scal and Mike mentioned in passing he is signed for two more years for peanuts. Checked for myself out of curiosity, and sure enough he becomes a RFA in 2019-20.

          2017-18 $815,615
          2018-19 $1,378,242
          2019-20 $1,818,520 (RFA)

          What a steal.

I agree with you that he's a steal. He's really better than Baynes but since Baynes has the NBA experience he gets the start ahead of Theis. Theis is just a guy that goes about his business doing what he is supposed to do. He's a decent rebounder.

He's a decent defender. What has surprised me though is that he can shoot the mid range & the 3 pointer. He has gotten more minutes over Baynes since just before the All-Star break & that's the way it should be because he really provides more than Baynes. No doubt he's a key contributor for this team & we need him for a title run.

Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown has entered the NBA's concussion protocol and will be out indefinitely, the team said Friday.

Brown being out for at least a few games might really hurt us. We need Tatum to step up & play like he did the 1st 20-25 games of the season now. Another key player will be Morris. He's been playing much better. If these 2 guys can play up to their par then we won't miss Jaylen Brown as much. Let's just hope & pray the guy doesn't have any long term damage from that nasty fall.

After tonight's 1 point 2 OT loss to the Wizards head coach Brad Stevens said that there's a chance that Marcus Smart might miss the rest of the season with a thumb injury. We can't afford to lose him. He's too key to our defense.

We already have Jaylen Brown out & it's still possible he could miss quite a few more games. Horford has been out with an illness. It's not been disclosed but a Boston newspaper said it was thought to be a battle with the Flu.

He should be back in no more than 2-3 games if this is the case. We must have Horford on the court if we are going to have these other guys out for extended periods of time.

I think that was the thought before this game also. there have been reports out there. It really changes the outlook on the postseason. Smart in I think they can challenge TOR and CLE... he's out they are vulnerable in the 1st round.

Boston Celtics All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving is expected to miss three to six weeks after undergoing surgery Saturday to remove a tension wire in his left knee, the team announced.

This is not good but at least no structural damage. We also have a very solid & capable backup in Rozier to start for us until Kyrie is ready to come back. Hopefully he can be ready by the playoffs.

We might not necessarily need him for the 1st Round playoffs but we must have Kyrie on the court to advance past the 2nd Round of the playoffs in my opinion. We also will need Jaylen Brown in there if we make it to the 2nd Round.
